스카이다이빙 팀의 리더 ‘페이슨’은 ‘세라’의 합류로 팀원이 6명이 되자 최고 난이도 점프대형 ‘헥스’를 시도하자고 말한다. ‘헥스’의 저주에 대해 익히 알고 있던 멤버들은 내키지 않지만 그의 완강한 태도에 결국 다같이 헬기에 오른다. 수 천 미터 상공에서 뛰어내린 순간 기적과 같이 ‘헥스’를 성공한 기쁨도 잠시 ‘페이슨’이 공중에서 감쪽같이 사라지고 지상 어디에서도 그의 모습을 찾을 수 없는데…

대학 졸업을 눈앞에 둔 동기생 가드너, 필, 케네스, 도만, 레스터, 케네스는 영장을 받으면서 여자 친구인 데비와의 약혼을 취소하고 가드너 역시 영장을 받는다. 그리고 도먼은 목사가 될 것이고 레스터는 회계 회사에 입사발령이 난 상태다. 이제 즐거운 학창 시절이 모두 끝났다고 생각하자 어딘가 허전한 다섯 사람. 이들은 무작정 차에 올라타 달려가며 미래에 대한 불안을 모두 날려버리려고 한다.

The successful undercover agent Victor Cooper is assigned for his ninth mission: to find how the loadings of drug is being brought to Miami. He suspects that the drug is coming through the air and joins a team of sky diving, under the leadership of Red Line, a fanatic and considered the athlete number one in this sport in the world. Due to his profile of winner, Vic gets involved with the group and he "disconnects" from his position of infiltrated agent, "connecting" with the team.

While touring abroad in Europe, beautiful American skydiver Fathom Harvill gets wrapped up in international intrigue when Scottish spy Douglas Campbell recruits her to help him on a secret mission. Before long, Fathom realizes that no one around her, including the mysterious Peter Merriweather, can easily be trusted, leading to various adventures that involve bull fighting, beaches and, of course, romance.

스카이다이빙 묘기로 살아가는 20대 30대,40대로 나이도 다양한 3명의 남자들 마이크(버트 랭카스터 분), 조(진 헥크만 분 ) ,말콤 (스캇 윌슨 분)은 미 전역을 돌아다니면서 공중곡예 스카이 다이빙을 벌인다. 어느날 이들은 고아였던 말콤의 고향으로 오게되는데, 고향에는 말콤의 양 어머니가 될뻔 했던 이모 브랜돈(데보라 카 분)이 불행한 결혼 생활을 하고 있었고, 세 명의 곡예사들은 당분간 브렌돈 이모집에 머물게 된다. 미모의 브렌돈에 첫 눈에 반해 마음을 빼앗겨 버린 마이크, 이에 브렌돈도 마음이 흔들리고, 둘은 결국 넘지 말아야 선을 넘어서고 만다. 그러나 스카이다이빙 곡예중 불행한 사건으로 마이크는 결국 목숨을 잃게 되는데... 1966년 그랑프리 라는 멋진 카 레이싱 영화를 만든 존 프랑켄하이머 감독이 3년 후에 만든 스카이 다이빙 영화이다. 그는 이 영화를 찍으면서 예전의 명 배우였던 버트 랑카스타와 데보라 카를 불러내 이후 16년 만에 러브씬을 찍었는데, 이번에는 바닷가가 아니고 응접실 쇼파였다. 그러나 나이가 들었던 탓에 그리 격렬하지는 않아다는 후일담도 있다. 1950년 대 TV에서 이미 이름을 알렸고, 60년대에 들어서는 헐리우드에서는 센세이션을 일으켰던 하이머 감독의 전성기때 만들어진 집시나방 (The Gypsy Moths) 은 창공을 배경으로 하는 액션과 재미가 더 하는 작품이다. 영화의 시작과 끝 부분에 스크린을 꽉 채우는 스카이 다이빙 장면은 언제 봐도 간담이 서늘할 정도로 실감이 나고 존 프랑켄 하이머 감독은 이런 소재의 영화를 참 잘 소화 한다는 평을 얻기도 했다.

Three friends meet one summer at a skydiving center. Adventurous, they spend most of their time jumping - for thrills and to escape what haunts them. Things don't work out when Rafaël, who has been forbidden to jump, comes to miss a particularly dangerous jump prepared by Charles.
