어릴 적부터 마약조직의 손에서 커 온 마틴과 페페. 10대 시절 첫눈에 반한 상류층 소녀 소피아에 대한 일편단심 때문에 마틴은 20대가 되어서도 페페의 놀림을 받는다. 보스의 신뢰를 바탕으로 승승장구하는 마틴과 페페는 큰 돈을 벌고, 자신의 모든 걸 쏟아 부어 고급 주택을 마련한 마틴은 소피아에게 청혼하며 다른 삶을 꿈꾼다. 보스의 명령으로 최대물량을 운반하는 임무를 수행하던 마틴과 페페가 멕시코의 라이벌 조직에 마약을 모두 털리면서 보스에게 큰 빚을 지게 되고, 빚 청산을 위해 마틴과 페페는 점점 더 위험한 수를 쓰게 된다. 설상가상 소피아 또한 마틴의 정체를 알게 되어 조직을 나올 것을 요구하고, 마틴은 마지막 한 탕을 위해 마이애미, 뉴욕, 멕시코, 콜롬비아를 누비며 목숨을 건 마약밀매를 진행한다. 그러다 마약청 요원으로부터 밀고자가 되어 경찰의 끄나풀로 일하라는 제안을 받게 되는데…
