Three in One (2015)

영국의 스타 럭비 선수였던 맥스(이드리스 엘바)는 보모와의 외도가 빌미가 되어 아내 에밀리(젬마 아터튼)와 별거 중이다. 가족에게 돌아가고 싶은 마음과 달리 술과 마약, 여자가 그의 발목을 잡는다. 가정에 전념해왔던 에밀리는 대학 시절 연인인 사진작가 제이크와 다시 만나면서 배우 복귀를 준비한다. 택시기사 조지(찰리 크리드 마일즈)와 캐시(키어스턴 워레잉) 부부는 간절히 원했던 입양이 실현되기 직전이다. 시인의 감성을 지닌 조무래기 흑인 마약상 킹슬리(프랜즈 드라메)는 조직에서 벗어나 새로운 인생을 찾고자 한다. 런던의 한 지역에서 흩어져 살지만 알게 모르게 얽혀 있는 이들에게 변화의 순간이 찾아온다. 폭력 전과 때문에 입양이 좌절된 조지는 끔찍한 교통사고를 내고 만다. 공동묘지에서 사회봉사 명령을 수행하다가 연극배우 테렌스(켄 스탓)와 인연을 맺은 킹슬리는 그의 주선으로 에밀리 앞에서 오디션을 본다. 그런데 최종 오디션 직전, 킹슬리는 테렌스의 갑작스런 사망 소식을 듣는다. 한편 성실한 가장으로 거듭 나려던 맥스는 에밀리를 오해하고 총기 소동을 일으키는데…

Three-episode film linked to each other by means of a medallion, where love is the engine that drives people to act the way they did.

Three separate stories depicting the tense everyday life during occupation, as seen through the eyes of children. In “On the Road,” the two main protagonists are lost in the September’s strife: a young boy, and a soldier transporting the valueless documents of his broken unit. In “Letter from the Concentration Camp” the story’s protagonists are young boys who help their mother during the hardships of the occupation. Their treasure is an officer uniform belonging their father who is being held in a prisoner of war camp. In “Blood Drop,” the Germans find a set of typical Aryan characteristics in this story’s protagonist – a Jewish girl, hiding in an orphanage.

This is a story about modern youth, about how young people enters the great beautiful world of complex human relations, how, when faced with different people and phenomena, boys and girls are convinced that good and bright are affirmed in life.
