Spectacular film by successful director Dhimitër Anagnosti. Three people, Sergeant Rahmiu (Ndrek Luca), Islam (Reshat Arbana), and Bepini (Bujar Kapexhiu) hijack a military ship to emigrate to Italy. Along the way they encounter opposition in the sailor Skender Guri (Rikard Ljarja), who wants to turn the ship back to Albania. 4 people representing different layers of the postwar Albanian society merge and collide offshore, unfolding the political conflicts of that era.
A radio reporter begins to suspect that a commentator at his station may be using her position to broadcast shipping information to enemy spies. With the help of the girl's sister, he sets out to expose the spy and her Nazi gang.
관광회사 기획부장인 선우현은 제주도에 관광호텔을 건설하는 첫 선전으로 이어도에 대한 캠페인을 벌였고 아울러 이어도가 실존하는지 여부를 알아볼 이어도 탐색 관광선을 출항시켜 많은 언론인과 발족자들을 초대하여 뱃놀이를 겸하게 된다. 취재기자 천남석 기자의 죽음으로 인한 선우현은 책임을 느껴 천기자의 집이 있는 작은 섬 파랑도를 찾아가 그의 전의 모든 사록을 파헤쳐 보기로 한 것이다. 손민자는 이곳 파랑도 술집의 작부로 독신이었던 천기자에게 비밀의 애인이 있었다는 귀뜸도 해준다. 손민자는 선우현에게 천기자의 실종 최후의 상황을 듣게 된다. 손민자는 선우현이 체험한 기이한 현상에 대해 자기는 전적으로 믿는다고 말한다. 그리고 이섬에 사당이 있어 이어도에 빨려 들어간 사람을 모시고 있다고 거기 가서 천남석기자의 명복을 빌자고 덧붙인다.

Flagwaving story of a new American destroyer, the JOHN PAUL JONES, from the day her keel is laid, to what was very nearly her last voyage. Among the crew, is Steve Boleslavski, a shipyard welder that helped build her, who reenlists, with his old rank of Chief bosuns mate. After failing her sea trials, she is assigned to the mail run, until caught up in a disparate battle with a Japanese sub. After getting torpedoed, and on the verge of sinking, the Captain, and crew hatch a plan to try and save the ship, and destroy the sub.

Contrasting the prestigious history of the seaport with the present the film sketches a portrait of the city, built on 42 hills, with its wealth and poverty, its daily life on the streets, the stairs, the rack railways and in the bars. Although the port has lost its importance, the rich past is still present in the impoverished city. The film echoes this ambiguous situation in its dialectical poetic style, interweaving the daily life reality (of 1963) with the history of the city and changing from black and white to colour, finally leaving us with hopeful perspective for the children who are playing on the stairs and hills of this beautiful town.
