프리더, 셀, 그리고 마인부우와의 대결에서 모두 승리한 손오공 일행덕분에 지구엔 평화가 찾아왔다. 하지만 몇 년 후, 머나먼 우주 저편에서 '파괴'를 관장하는 전 우주 최강의 존재 파괴신 비루스가 39년 만에 잠에서 깨어나게 되고, 또 다시 심상치 않은 기운이 감돈다. 비루스는 부르마의 생일을 맞아 모처럼 한자리에 모인 손오공 일행을 찾아가 전설의 전사 초사이야인 갓을 내놓지 않으면 지구를 파괴시켜 버린다고 위협한다. 손오반, 베지터를 비롯해 모두 비루스의 압도적인 파워에 속수무책으로 패배하는 가운데, 초사이야인 갓으로 변신에 성공한 오공은 지구의 운명을 건 최후의 대결을 펼치게 되는데...

사악한 인물이 저소득층 주민들을 위협할 때, 극악무도할 정도로 우스꽝스러운 원작 공포영화 빙고헬에서 한 성급한 노인이 그를 막으려고 한다. 60대 동네 활동가 루피타(아드리아나 바라자)는 자신이 사랑하는 빙고홀이 미스터 빅(리처드 브레이크)이라는 괴짜 사업가에 의해 점거된 것을 알게 된 후, 나이든 친구들을 불러모아 수수께끼의 사업가에 맞서 싸운다. 하지만 그녀의 오랜 이웃들이 끔찍한 상황에서 죽기 시작했을 때, 루피타는 갑자기 젠트리피케이션이 그녀의 문제 중 가장 사소한 것이라는 것을 알게 된다. 오크 스프링스의 조용한 바리오에 뭔가 무서운 것이 자리잡았고, "빙고!"라는 새로운 외침과 함께 또 다른 희생자는 그것의 사악한 존재의 희생양이 된다. 상금이 늘어나고 몸값이 꾸준히 상승함에 따라 루피타는 이 게임이 진정한 승자독식이라는 무서운 깨달음에 직면해야 한다.

양로원에서 무료한 삶을 살아가던 노인들이 이상하게 생긴 커다란 돌이 들어 있는 이웃집 풀장에서 수영을 하고 난 뒤로는 이상하게 젊어지기 시작한다. 사실 그 돌은 외계인들이 멕시코만의 해저에서 자신의 동족이 잠자고 있는 생명의 돌, 즉 코쿤이었다. 그 사실을 모르는 노인들은 이 풀장에서 수영을 하면서 우연한 기회에 외계인들과 마주치게 된다. 하지만 두려움은 잠시였고 외계인들과 노인들은 마음 속 깊이 따뜻한 사랑의 감정을 나눈다.

각자의 목적으로 황혼기에 인도를 찾았던 에블린(주디 덴치), 더글라스(빌 나이), 뮤리엘(매기 스미스) 등 여섯 명의 영국인들은 자이푸르의 ‘베스트 엑조틱 메리골드 호텔’에 머물면서 새로운 인생을 살아간다. 뮤리엘과 함께 호텔을 공동으로 경영하는 소니(데브 파텔)는 호텔 확장 제안서를 미국 투자자에게 제출한 뒤, 손님으로 위장하고 호텔을 방문할 심사원을 기다린다. 마침내 호텔의 운명을 좌우할 심사원으로 생각되는 가이 챔버스(리처드 기어)가 도착하자 소니는 극진한 친절을 베푼다. 또한 코앞으로 닥친 결혼식을 제쳐두고 챔버스의 한심을 사는 데만 골몰하여 약혼녀를 실망시킨다. 그런데 소니가 구입하여 확장하려는 호텔을 라이벌인 쿠샬이 먼저 손에 넣는다. 이처럼 소니가 호텔 확장과 결혼식 때문에 전전긍긍하는 동안 노년의 투숙객들에게도 피할 수 없는 선택의 순간이 다가오는데…

직장에서 은퇴 후 단 둘이서 다정하게 살아가던 바크와 루시 부부는 흩어져 살던 자식들을 불러 모아 은행에 집을 빼앗기게 됐다는 소식을 전해준다. 자식들은 경제적 어려움을 이유로 곤란해 하다가 결국 바크와 루시를 따로 모시겠다고 하고, 부부는 내키지 않아하면서도 어쩔 수 없이 이 결정을 받아들인다.
