Sins of Man (1936)

서른 살이 넘도록 챔피언의 승률을 올려주는 백업선수로만 전전긍긍하는 미키. 도로포장 일까지 겸하지만 늘 생활고에 시달린다. 복싱만이 떨어져 지내고 있는 딸을 데려오기 위한 돈을 벌 수 있는 유일한 돌파구이자, 그의 삶의 전부이다. 어린 시절부터 미키에게 권투에 관한 모든 것을 알려준 형 디키는 세계 챔피언, 슈가 레이 레너드를 쓰러뜨리며 집안의 자랑이자 모두의 영웅이 되었지만, 이제는 과거의 영광에 들떠 사고만 치는 골칫덩어리로 전락한다. 그래도 여전히 사랑하는 가족들이 따르는 맏아들이자 맏형인 디키는 미키에게 없어서는 안될 트레이너다.

The body of a young actress is brought to her home town by the man who loved her. He knows that she wanted all the church bells to ring for three days after she was buried, but is told that this will cost a lot of money. The checks that he writes to the various churches all bounce, but it is the weekend and, in desperation, he prays that a miracle will happen before the banks reopen. It does, but not in the way he hoped.

An alcoholic priest receives confessions online throughout the eternal quarantine.

Christmas Eve. A poor orphan boy trudges through the snow, pathetically. He finally arrives at his miserable cabin. While he is crying, Santa arrives and, singing the title song, offers to take the boy to his workshop. They arrive, and the toys go wild (in the full version, they sing the title song, but this has been censored in some versions due to outdated stereotypes). He plays with a few toys. A candle falls off the tree and starts a fire. The toys try in vain to fight the fire; the boy hooks up a hose to a set of bagpipes and takes care of it.
