Tigresa (1969)

This is the story about Setyo, Siti and Ludiro, who were the performer of Javanese Ramayana's Wayang Wong. Setyo and Siti are spouse who live in a village by selling earthenware products. In the village, live as well Ludiro, the head of the stockyard, who is very wealthy and secretly in love with Siti. Conflicts arrived as Setyo's earthenware company is going bankrupt and Siti started to took notice in Ludiro's desire to win her love. These triangle love transform into a civil war in the village that brings not only extremity and injustice, but also the death of the loved ones.

While in jail Ajay makes friends with some other hardcore convicts, who are good at heart. Then one day they escape the jail by overpowering the guards. But Ajay falls in love with Varsha a journalist who helped in showing Ajay the path to justice in killing the main villain Balwant Rai.

1964년 브롱크스. 그해 미국은 베트남전에 참전하고, 죽은 케네디 대통령의 망령이 어둡게 드리우고 있다. 마틴 루터 킹 목사의 평화에 관한 호소가 브라운관을 타고 흘러나올 때 감옥에서 한 청년이 출소하여 이 거리로 돌아온다. 그의 이름은 하인즈(존 터투로 분). 죄명은 폭력, 살인 및 강간미수, 정신 이상. 하인즈가 돌아오면서 이상한 일들이 벌어진다. 인디언 화살 살인사건이 이어지고, 거리는 온통 그에 대한 소문과 불안한 무드로 가득 찬다. 그 중에서도 가장 겁에 질린 것은 린다(조디 포스터 분). 바로 그녀가 하인즈의 목표이기 때문이다. 하인즈는 그녀를 너무 사랑한 나머지 수단 방법을 가리지 않고 갖고 싶어했고, 그를 막던 린다 애인의 다리를 분질러버린 것이다. 이제 린다를 도울 수 있는 사람은 2년전 그 사건이 있던 날 그녀를 구한 해리(팀 빈스 분) 뿐. 그러나 해리는 자신의 아버지가 폭력 앞에서 죽어가는 것을 지켜본 이후 다시는 폭력을 쓰지 않겠다고 맹세한 다음이었다. 린다가 해리를 찾아가 호소해도 그는 단호하게 거절한다. 이제 막다른 골목에 놓인 린다를 심야에 분수대 앞으로 불러낸 하인즈는 진심으로 당신에게 하는 선물이라며 동물원에서 훔친 펭귄을 한 쌍 내놓는다. 그건 하인즈의 구혼 신청이기도 했다. 그러나 린다가 한마디로 거절하자 하인즈는 대답한다. "남의 선물을 그렇게 무시하면 안돼!" 그리고는 몽둥이를 들어 사정없이 펭귄을 내리쳐 때려 죽인다. 하인즈에게 린다의 거절이란 감히 상상할 수 없는 일이었다. 도망치는 린다를 사정없이 내팽개쳐서 기절시킨 하인즈는 그녀를 업고 그의 어머니 아파트로 향하는데..

3살의 소녀가 사라지는 사건이 발생한다. 공교롭게도 소녀가 사라진 곳은 23년전 같은 나이 또래의 소녀가 강간, 살해된 장소다. 곧 경찰의 수사가 시작 되지만 쉽게 단서를 찾아내지 못한다. 성폭행 살인범 이라는 심각한 주제를 잔잔하고 현실적인 톤으로 전개 시키는 감독의 연출력이 인상적인 작품. (2010년 제15회 부산국제영화제)
