알프스의 아름다운 자연에 둘러싸인 오스트리아의 잘츠부르크 수도원. 음악을 사랑하는 말괄량이 견습 수녀 마리아는 원장 수녀의 권유로 해군 명문 집안 폰 트랩가의 가정교사가 된다. 마리아는 좀처럼 마음의 문을 열지 않는 폰 트랩가의 일곱 아이들에게 노래를 가르치며 점차 교감하게 되고, 엄격한 폰 트랩 대령 역시 마음의 문을 열게 된다. 그러던 어느 날, 마리아는 자신이 폰 트랩 대령을 사랑하고 있다는 사실을 깨닫게 되고, 자신만의 비밀을 간직한 채 아이들의 곁을 떠나 다시 수녀원에 들어가기로 결심하는데...

회오리 바람에 휩쓸려 오즈의 나라로 내던져진 도로시는 집으로 되돌아갈 수 있는 유일한 길이 위대한 오즈의 마법사를 만나는 것임을 알고 그를 찾아 긴 여정이 시작된다. 도로시는 애견 토토와 함께 노란 길을 따라 오즈의 마법사가 사는 에메랄드 시티로 향한다. 도중에 만난 세 명의 친구들, 지능을 얻고자 하는 허수아비와 심장을 원하는 양철 나뭇꾼, 용기를 가지고 싶어하는 겁장이 사자와 함께 오즈의 마법사에게 자신의 소원이 이루어지도록 부탁하기 위해 도로시와 함께 경쾌한 발걸음을 옮긴다. 그러나 도로시 일행을 방해하기 위해 뒤쫓아오는 서쪽 나라 마녀의 검은 그림자.

전직 테니스 선수 토니(Tony Wendice: 레이 밀런드 분)는 부자인 아내 마고(Margot Wendice: 그레이스 켈리 분)와 결혼한 뒤, 테니스를 그만두고 사업가로 그럭저럭 성공을 거둔다.그러나 아내가 옛 동창이자 추리 소설가인 마크(Mark Halliday: 로버트 커밍스 분)와 사랑에 빠지고 사업조차 곤경에 처하자 아내의 유산을 노리고 청부살인을 계획한다. 그는 감옥에서 나와 밑바닥 생활을 하고 있는 옛 친구 스완(C.A. Swan/Captain Lesgate: 안소니 도슨 분)을 끌어들여 마고를 죽이도록 계획을 꾸미고 자신은 알리바이를 위해 연적 마크와 함께 사교모임에 참석한다. 그러나 마고는 자신을 목 졸라 죽이려는 스완과 격투를 벌이다 엉겁결에 바느질 가위로 그의 등을 찌르고, 스완은 뒤로 넘어지면서 가위에 깊이 찔려 숨지고 만다. 토니는 교묘하게 아내를 살인범으로 몰아가고 마침내 사형언도를 받게 되자 그녀의 재산을 멋대로 쓰고 다닌다. 그러나 마고의 애인인 마크와 형사반장(Inspector Hubbard: 존 윌리암스 분)이 사건 전말에 대해 의혹을 가지고 살해된 남자의 침입 경로를 끝까지 추적하던 중 결정적인 증거물인 현관 열쇠의 비밀을 알게 된다. 결국 이들은 남편이 모든 일을 꾸며낸 장본인이라는 것을 밝혀내는데...

Here's the premise: Bugs and Daffy, both book salesmen, are competing to sell the most copies of a kids' book. Instead of burrowing a beeline to his sales territory (he should have made a left at Albuquerque), Bugs ends up in the castle of Yosemite Sam, here a harem-leading honcho. Sam's pain-in-the-spurs son, Prince Abalaba, needs somebody to read him stories; Bugs, who'd sooner take the job than suffer the alternative, that involving being boiled in oil, signs on.

선천적으로 앞을 못보는 마틴(Martin: 휴고 위빙 분)은 병약한 홀어머니 밑에서 성장하는데 자신이 장애아이기 때문에 어머니가 자신을 미워하고 미워하기 때문에 자기에게 진실을 말해주지 않고 모든 걸 속인다고 오해한다. 이처럼 심각한 피해 의식은 젊은 나이에 요절한 어머니의 죽음마저도 자기를 버리고 떠나기 위해서 조작된 거짓말이라고 믿게 만든다. 세상의 모든 걸 불신하는 마틴은 주위 사람들이 자신을 속이지 못하게 보이지는 않지만 육감으로 느끼는 주변의 풍경들을 사진으로 찍어서 증거로 남겨둔다. 그리고 이 증거품인 사진을 솔직하게 말해 줄만한 정직한 사람을 찾던 중 식당의 주방에서 일하는 앤디(Andy: 러셀 크로우 분)라는 착한 청년을 만나게 된다. 마틴은 자신이 찍은 사진과 자기에게 충실한 개 그리고 자기가 찍은 사진을 정직하게 설명해주는 앤디만을 믿고 의지하며 산다. 마틴을 사랑하기 때문에 마틴의 집에서 3년 반 동안 가정부로 일해 온 실리아(Celia: 제네비에브 피콧 분)는 자신보다 앤디를 더 믿는 것에 심한 질투를 느껴서 앤디를 모함하기 위한 계략으로 앤디를 유혹하는데...

전투 도중 부상을 입고 기억 상실증에 언어장애까지 겹친 찰스(Charles Rainer/John 'Smithy' Smith: 로날드 콜맨 분)는 종전 되던 날 안개를 틈타 수용소를 몰래 빠져 나온다. 그 뒤 챨스는 아름다운 여인 폴라(Paula: 그리어 가슨 분)를 만나 건강도 되찾고 결혼해 아들도 낳는 한편 작가로 입문하는데 리버풀에 연재기사를 계약하러 혼자 갔다 교통사고를 당해 폴라와 같이 산 세월만 기억을 못하게 된다. 명문의 아들인 챨스는 그 뒤 고향으로 돌아가 사업가로 대성하나 기억하지 못하는 세월 때문에 뭔가 늘 허전해 하며 열쇠를 만지작 거리며 산다. 한편 폴라는 잡지에 난 챨스의 사진을 보고 챨스의 개인 비서로 일하게 되고 사실은 밝히지 않고 챨스를 훌륭히 보필하면서 기억이 되살아 나기만 기다리며 안타까와 한다. 챨스가 국회의원이 되자 둘은 결혼해 형식적인 부부가 되어 폴라는 챨스의 의정활동을 돕다가 끝내는 기억이 되살아나 재회하게 된다.

Chanthu, a poor orphan and Aromal are cousins and belong to the Chekavar clan, a warrior clan who hire themselves out as duellers to settle disputes among the rich and powerful.
