한적한 요크셔 시골에서 부모님의 농장 일을 돕는 조니는 지루하기만 한 자기 인생에 염증을 느낀다. 어느 날, 농장 일을 돕기 위해 고용된 루마니아 출신 노동자를 만나면서 그의 인생도 바뀌기 시작한다.

맞벌이 가정의 12살 소년 자러는 바쁜 부모의 무관심 속에 학교에서는 항상 말썽을 부리기 일쑤다. 엄마의 임신으로 가사일을 돌볼 필리핀 출신 가정부 테레사가 자러의 집에 오게 되고 자러는 어쩔 수 없이 테레사와 한 방을 쓰게 된다. 테레사의 모든 것이 못마땅한 자러. 그런 자러에게 테레사는 진심으로 대하고 어느새 두 사람은 부모보다 더욱 친근한 관계가 형성된다. 하지만 아빠의 실직에 엄마까지 직장을 잃게 되자 자러와 테레사는 헤어질 수 밖에 없는 위기에 처하는데...

카타르에서는 백만 명이 넘는 이주노동자들이 꾸린 월드컵이 진행되고 있다. 그들은 낮에는 유명 선수들이 뛸 경기장을 건설하며 땀을 흘리고, 저녁에는 노동자 복지 축구 토너먼트 경기를 벌인다. 네팔, 인도, 가나, 케냐에서 온 이들이 한 팀을 이루어, 떠나온 고향에 대한 그리움과 가장 부유한 나라의 가장 낮은 계급으로 살아가는 고독에서 벗어나기 위해 축구를 한다. (2017년 제14회 국제다큐영화제)

Nick Broomfield met Hsiao Hung Pai, a journalist who was working for the Guardian, when making his feature film 'Ghosts' (about the Morecambe Bay Chinese Cockle Pickers ). As an experiment and using the latest in undercover technology, Nick worked with Hsiao to make a Undercover film set in a Chinese brothel in Finchley. There are over 2000 'illegal' brothels in London,largely ignored by the police and the authorities, which employ 80% foreign nationals, mostly illegal, that are easily exploited by the brothel owners.

Soft boys by day, kings by night. The film follows a group of young Bulgarian Roma who come to Vienna looking for freedom and a quick buck. They sell their bodies as if that's all they had. What comforts them, so far from home, is the feeling of being together. But the nights are long and unpredictable.

This deeply human documentary examines the subject of environmental destruction, highlighting the impoverished migrant workers who are chopping down the Amazon rainforest to create charcoal for pig iron production used primarily in the automobile industry. The film examines the children and elders and their daily lives and work as they burn timber in igloo-looking huts, their bodies charred gray for $2 a day, struggling to survive.

When mobile nurse Esma finds one of her patients dead, the strictly timed schedule of her day is thrown off balance. Between professional ethics and family obligations, she is faced with a difficult decision.

The vege­ta­bles come from the garden behind the house, the fish comes out of a can, and money for bread is earned at the factory. It’s because of this money that they came here. Women from Turkey stand side-by-side with women form Meck­len­burg at the conveyor belt of a fish-proces­sing factory in Lübeck. Their hands are stained brown, the pungent smell of fish clings to them, and their arms and backs ache. If these jobs were done by men, machines would have been invented long ago to replace them. But female labour is cheap and the women do not complain. They have learned to work – and therein lies the source of their pride. The beautiful and spoilt Yerusalem had a wonderful life in Paris as the wife of the Eritrean Ambassador. Due to political changes, her husband is arrested, and she has to run for her life, finding herself in a refugee shelter in south Tel Aviv, where nobody cares who she was. Even there, at the skirts of town, among the desperation and poverty, she does not give up and struggles with all her might to regain her former status. A torrid love affair with an affluent Israeli architect brings her closer to her target until she discovers that he will never leave his family, and that her fate is doomed.

In fremder Erde (In Foreign Soil) documents the Muslim traditions of burial in Turkey and Germany, but above all, the paths the dead take to return to Anatolian soil.
