Two sleepless teenagers find kinship as they escape to their school's astronomy observatory. Unable to sleep at night, Ganta Nakami is cranky in class and unpopular with his classmates. He discovers that the school observatory, once used by the now-defunct astronomy club, may be the perfect place for a nap—but he's not alone. Fellow insomniac Isaki Magari is willing to share the observatory with Nakami, and a friendship between the two begins as they bond over the most unlikely of things. Dark rumors about what befell the members of the astronomy club keep people away from the school observatory, and that's what makes it the perfect sanctuary for Nakami and Magari to get some much-needed rest. Unfortunately, the school faculty can't allow its unsanctioned use. But if there were a new astronomy club, maybe these two insomniacs could have a place to call home!

Karen is an ordinary high school student in Tokyo, but she sometimes recalls pieces of her childhood memories that she did not know before. During the process of getting her passport for a school trip, Karen views her family register. She learns that she had an older sister Yukari, who died at the age of 4. Karen also learns that her parents are not her biological parents and that she was adopted. Karen now wants to learn about herself. She lies to her parents and tells them that she is leaving on the school trip. Instead, she travels to Fukuoka where she was born. Her classmate Satoi Hogari accompanies her.

에덴의 동산 게임에서 빨간 사과가 모이지 않는다에 베팅을 했던 주최자 중 한 명인 오메가는 2년 후 다시 부활하여 아키야마 신이치에게 복수할 준비를 한다. 한편 오메가의 동생이 자살을 하게 되고, 동생의 딸 오쿠무라 앨리스를 오메가가 입양하여 LGT 사무국의 직원으로 받아들인다. 신생 LGT 사무국은 사전 준비로 후쿠나가 유지를 이용하기 위해 터부 게임을 준비. 요코야가 이길 것이라고 확신하는 오메가는 요코야에게 이기면 돈을 더 주겠다는 조건을 걸고 터부 게임 이라는 요코야 노리히코와 후쿠나가 유지의 1:1 게임을 연다. 오메가의 예상대로 후쿠나가는 게임에서 패배하여 1억 엔의 빚을 진다. LGT 사무국은 자신들이 시키는 대로 하면 후쿠나가의 빚을 변제해주겠다는 조건을 내건다. (라이어 게임 -재생-의 프리퀄격 스핀오프 '후쿠나가 vs 요코야' 참고) 이번 LGT 사무국은 아키야마 신이치에게 복수하기 위해 의자뺏기 게임이라는 게임을 준비한다. 이 게임은 특별히 아키야마에게 필적할 수 있을 법한 강적들로만 플레이어들을 모은다. 사무국은 우선 아키야마를 유인할 미끼로 쓰기 위해 아키야마의 제자 중 한 명인 시노미아 유우를 게임에 끌어들이고, 후쿠나가 유지를 통해 아키야마에게 게임의 초대장을 전달한다. 결국 어쩔 수 없이 게임에 참가하게 된 시노미아와 아키야마, 아키야마는 거기서 파이널 스테이지 때 함께했던 동료인 사카마키 마에와 다시 마주한다. 게임이 진행되던 도중 아키야마 신이치는 시노미아 유우에게 간단한 심리테스트를 한다. 이 심리테스트의 의미는 영화 마지막에 밝혀진다.

Six-year-old Ataru steps on Elle's shadow during an impromptu game of shadow-tag; in Elle's culture, this is viewed as a marriage proposal. Eleven years later, Elle returns to Earth in order to marry Ataru — by which time not only had he forgotten the events of his childhood, but he was also going out with Lum. The rest of the plot focuses on Lum's attempts to prevent the marriage. The film was directed by Mamoru Oshii who was mad at the many requests that the producer made of him to alter the movie. Rumiko Takahashi considers this film her favorite and it is the most true to the original series.

LOVERS' KISS (ラヴァーズ・キス?) is a 2003 Japanese romance movie based on a manga by Akimi Yoshida. This is a youth movie of six teenagers (three boys and three girls) whom it is focused on, taking place in Kamakura.

사사키 준코 원작만화를 OVA로 만든 1986년작. 1989년 1월에 KBS-1에서 새해 특선으로 아침 7시에 '황금고리'란 제목으로 방영했다. 황금테고리로 많이 알려졌으나 당시 KBS 방영표를 보면 황금고리로 나와 있다. 국내 비디오 제목은 별나라의 오오라.
