영화감독이 꿈인 영준은 영화를 만들기 위해 중고나라에서 맥북을 사려다 사기를 당한다. 직접 사기꾼들을 잡겠노라 결심한 영준은 무작정 중국으로 떠난다. B급 감성의 대표주자 백승기 감독의 신작으로 특유의 기발한 상상력과 B급 유머가 빛을 발하는 초저예산 액션 코미디.
1969년, 전 세계 최초로 우주 정복의 꿈을 이루기 위해 유인 우주선 아폴로 11호를 달로 보내려던 미국은 실패를 대비해 가짜 달 착륙 장면을 촬영해두기로 한다. 달 착륙 조작 프로젝트를 위해 급파된 CIA 비밀요원 ‘키드먼’(론 펄먼)은 막 를 발표하며 혁신적인 감각을 또 한번 입증한 ‘스탠리 큐브릭’ 감독에게 이 말도 안되는 프로젝트의 메가폰을 맡기기로 결심하지만, 그의 행방은 묘연하기만 하다. 하지만 이대로 특급 프로젝트를 포기할 수 없는 ‘키드먼’은 3류 밴드 매니저 ‘조니’(루퍼트 그린트)를 고용하고, 우연히 만난 ‘레온’(로버트 시한)을 가짜 ‘스탠리 큐브릭’으로 분장시키면서 전세계를 상대로 한 어마어마한 사기극을 펼치게 되는데…
평범한 가장인 카일의 옛 친구 잭은 그를 설득해 "환생" 세미나에 참가시키고, 이로 인해 카일의 인생은 유혹과 폭력이 난무하는 사이코드라마의 소용돌이에 휘말리게 된다.
광동에서 도둑질을 하며 소일을 하는 허군보는 우연히 관부의 보물을 턴 강도들을 혼내주고 그 보물로 해상술집에서 거부 보석상행세를 하며 기생들과 유희를 즐긴다. 이때 반대편에서 북경에서 온 보석상인 왕천명이라는 사람과 자존심대결을 하게 되고 급기야 왕천명에게 싸움을 건다. 이 소동으로 관군이 몰려오는데 왕천명이 증명서를 보이자 관군은 쩔쩔매는데, 왕천명의 신분은 바로 11왕야이다. 그는 명주와 골동품 그리고 무공을 좋아해 자주 변복을 하고 유람하는 것을 좋아하는 사람이다. 허군보는 왕천명의 신분을 모른 채 자신이 도둑질한 보물을 찾으려고 애쓰다가 무공을 숨긴 왕천명이 기생인 소홍 (혜영홍)을 이용해 허군보를 굴복시키고 심지어 허군보를 제자로 삼는다. 이때 황권을 노린 4황자는 자객을 보내 11황자를 죽이려하고, 11황자도 큰 부상을 입는다. 허군보가 진심으로 간호하자 감동한 11황자는 그에게 무영각을 전수해주고 허군보의 수행 하에 황궁으로 향한다.
