대학교에서 퇴학당하고 집에서 빈둥대는 백수 노아(조나 힐)는 엄마의 권유에 못이겨 하룻밤 베이비시터가 된다. 노아가 돌봐야 할 아이들은 심리불안 증세가 심각한 슬레이터, 짙은 화장을 하고 섹시함만을 추종하는 블라이스, 과격한 행동을 일삼는 엘살바도르 입양 소년 로드리고 3남매. 아이들과 티격태격하며 시간을 때우던 노아는 짝사랑 섹시녀 마리사의 전화를 받는다. 당장 마약을 구해서 파티에 와달라는 것. 마리사에게 점수를 딸 기회를 잡은 노아는 마약상 칼(샘 록웰)을 만나 마약을 구하고는 아이들과 함께 파티장으로 향한다. 그런데 로드리고가 마약이 든 알을 훔쳐오고, 옥신각신하는 과정에서 알이 깨져 마약이 공중으로 흩어지면서 문제가 시작된다. 칼은 1시간 후에 1만 달러를 가져오지 않으면 죽이겠다며 노아를 협박하는데…

하이메 선생은 저소득층의 불량스러운 스페인계의 학생들이 주로 다니는 가필드 고등학교에 교사로 부임한다. 학교측도 이 문제를 고심하고 있으나 뾰족한 수가 없는 상태였다. 그런 학생들에게 하이메 선생은 희망을 심어주고, 야단도 쳐가며 공부를 시켜 급기야 대학에 진학할 수 있는 상급 배치고사를 보게 하려고 한다. 하지만 학교측은 이런 하이메 선생의 방식에 사사건건 반대한다. 우여곡절 끝에 드디어 시험을 치루게 되고 결과만 기다리던 중 그들에게 다가온 소식은 합격이 아니라, 시험 무효라는 충격적 결과였는데...

After reading in the newspaper, Úrsulo runs to seek employment. A repellent and fascinating depiction of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, along with Haight-Ashbury in San Francisco and the East Village in New York. Tiny Tim amounts to something resembling a recurring motif and narrator.

They, along with Grandma (Ruth McDevitt) trick out an old Greyhound bus and hit the road. The picaresque plotline brings the family into contact with a variety of colorful characters. The producers of In Search of America never declared outright that the made-for-TV film was intended as a series pilot, but it ends on an ambiguous note with plenty of loose plot ends. In Search of America was first telecast March 23, 1971.

The journey through time and dimensions goes deep into the psychedelic underground world in which these people strived for freedom.

Long before the mountain bike entered our global consciousness, the cycling enthusiasts of Northern California's Marin County rode modified pre-WWII bicycles down the slopes of Mount Tamalpais. They developed their bikes through rigorous field-testing, often risking life and limb to do so. Some of these cyclists were Category-1 road racers looking for a new way to train during the off-season. Others were simply fun-loving hippies looking for a new way to commune with nature. Their early bikes were scavenged from dumpsters and junkyards. It was from these humble beginnings that a multi-billion dollar industry, a form of recreation for the masses, and an Olympic event, were born. These hefty steeds were affectionately known as Klunkerz.

An ex-schoolteacher is asked by the police to help locate a missing heiress.

A couple of wandering hippies meet a man by the name of Antonio who takes them to the home where he lives with his sister and brother-in-law. There they meet several strange characters: a gypsy woman, a prostitute and a disturbing drunk. The host tells them that he is a producer of wines and loves to entertain strange people. In fact he is a madman who has created a mechanism that can suck blood from human bodies.
