파키스탄 이민자 2세대 쿠마일은 로스쿨 진학을 원하는 보수적인 부모님을 등지고 코미디언으로 성공하기 위해 고군분투 중이다. 직업 선택은 양보해도 배우자 선택만은 물러설 수 없는 쿠마일의 부모는 틈만 나면 파키스탄 여성과의 만남을 주선하고, 그는 가족의 화목과 파키스탄의 전통을 존중하기에 이를 따른다.
