Guy Ben-Ner, one of Israel's foremost video artists, gained international recognition with a series of low-tech films, starring his family in absurdist settings carved out of their intimate spaces and their everyday surroundings. Many of his videos are inspired by screenplays for films, folktales and novels. Analyzing these literary and cinematographic passages allows him to exploit the conventions of film narrative: how to tell a story, captivate an audience through a tale, sustain a degree of tension and entertainment, and so on. At the same time, he corrupts the magic of fiction by openly showing us the entrails of everything he records, without worrying about revealing the tricks of the trade. A large part of his filmic oeuvre features a conglomeration of cinematic and literary references which the artist quotes, adapts or interprets. Ben-Ner self-referentially links the great themes and their literary, cinematic and artistic realization.
The Short Films of David Lynch (2002) is a DVD collection of the early student and commissioned film work of American filmmaker David Lynch. As such, the collection does not include Lynch's later short work, which are listed in the filmography. The films are listed in chronological order, with brief descriptions of each film. 어느 날, 옛 친구와 함께 술집에 들른 영화감독 아리는 계속 반복되는 친구의 악몽에 관해 듣게 된다. 매일 밤 꿈에 어김없이 등장해 자신을 쫓는 정체 모를 26마리의 사나운 개들에 관한 이야기. 두 남자는 이 악몽이 80년대 초 레바논 전쟁 당시 그들이 수행했던 이스라엘 군에서의 임무와 어떠한 연관이 있다고 결론 내린다. 오랜 시간 친구와 대화를 나누던 중 아리는 자신이 당시의 일들을 전혀 기억하지 못한다는 것을 깨닫고, 잃어버린 기억을 찾기 위해서 전세계를 돌며 자신의 옛 친구들과 동료들을 찾아 나선다. 아리가 과거의 비밀을 더 깊이 파헤쳐갈수록 때로는 선명하게, 때로는 초현실적인 이미지의 형태로 그의 기억들도 하나씩 떠오르기 시작하는데….

The young man, who idolizes Gagarin, is engaged in reconstruction, making the uniform in which the cosmonaut walked in the prime of his glory. Our hero is also a film enthusiast. He makes films with stories of space flights and shows them to his friends. The film is stylized as amateur films of the 1980s and was shot on a 16-mm color film made by the company" Svema", made in the Soviet Union. The quality of this film allows the viewer to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the time of the film, which is dedicated to Soviet cosmonautics and Edward D. Wood Jr.

"Hell Spit Flexion," or springing out of Hell, is on smaller film stock, taking the center of the frame. Montages of color move rapidly with a star and the edge of a lighted moon briefly visible. Purgation is back to full frame; blurs of color occasionally slow down then freeze. From time to time, an image, such as a window or a face, is distinguishable for a moment. In "existence is song," colors swirl then flash in and out of view. Behind the vivid colors are momentary glimpses of volcanic activity.
