Songs performed include "The Day the Dead Walked," "The Enemy Inside," "Torn to the Bone," and almost a dozen others. A bonus CD contains five additional songs. This is a great disc for fans of the band or the music they play.
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band's London Calling: Live In Hyde Park concert film is of the Boss and his band's performance at London's Hard Rock Calling Festival on June 28, 2009 in HD. The film documents 27 tracks of live Springsteen that begin in daylight and progress through a gorgeous sunset into night. The set list spans from the Born To Run era to Working On a Dream and includes rare covers such as The Clash's "London Calling", Jimmy Cliff's "Trapped", The Young Rascals' "Good Lovin'", and Eddie Floyd's "Raise Your Hand". Springsteen also performs fan favorite "Hard Times (Come Again No More)". Brian Fallon from The Gaslight Anthem joins the band as a guest vocalist on Springsteen's own "No Surrender".
Nine o'clock on Monday morning, August 18, 1969: while the work force was starting the day, Jimi Hendrix was taking the stage at Woodstock. While hundreds of thousands had already left, 25,000 people remained to see this incredible performance. Hendrix, along with drummer Mitch Mitchell and bassist Billy Cox, offered masterly renditions of the songs of the recently disbanded Experience ("Hey Joe," "Foxey Lady"), and gave a preview of the blues-based Band of Gypsys ("Izabella," "Hear My Train A Comin'"), as well as Jimi's era-defining rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." Though the weekend had witnessed some landmark performances by other great artists, this performance from Hendrix is regarded by many as the defining moment in a festival ripe with defining moments.
대학에서 문학을 전공한 시난은 교사로 취직하여 가계에 도움을 주기 위해 고향으로 돌아온다. 하지만 그가 정말 원하는 것은 그의 첫 소설을 출판하는 것. 출판을 위한 자금을 마련하고자 애쓰지만, 아버지 이드리스의 소소한 도박 때문에 가족은 빚 독촉과 생활고에 늘 시달리며 녹록지 않은 삶을 살고 있다. 그런 시난에게 아버지는 사랑과 미움의 대상이다. 세 시간이 넘는 상영 시간 동안 시난과 그의 주변 사람들, 그리고 그들이 나누는 끝없는 대화를 들려주는 는 이야기의 중심에 시난과 이드리스 두 부자를 병치시키며 위기의 남성성을 관찰한다. 짐짓 장황하게 들리는 대화들은 시간이 흐를수록 서로 꼬리를 물며 묘한 리듬을 자아내고, 그 속에서 시난은 때로는 애처롭고 때로는 밉살스럽게 등장한다. 자신의 언어가 가진 역능을 믿는 시난과, 물 한 방울 나오지 않는 우물을 묵묵히 파는 이드리스, 두 남자가 자아내는 긴장은 영화의 마지막, 묵직하고 강렬한 마법적인 순간을 향해 나아간다. 터키 북서부의 차낙칼레와 근교의 풍광은 언어로 전달되지 않는 어떤 심성을 시난의 이야기에 더해주는 또 하나의 캐릭터다.
