광견병이 인간에게도 발현되며 그 병이 옮은 사람에게 물린 사람은 90초만에 전염된다. 백신을 만들어 세계를 구하려는 집단이 지하에서 연구를 하며 최초의 감염자, 페이션트 제로를 찾으려고 한다. 모건은 바이러스에 감염된 자에게 물렸지만 변화하지 않은 항체를 가진 사람이다. 그는 물리고 나서 감염자들과 대화를 할 수 있게 되었고 생포한 감염자들과의 대화를 통해 페이션트 제로를 찾으려 한다. 하지만 지능을 가진 감염자들 역시 남은 사람들에 대한 반격을 꾀한다.

Brenner returns to Graz, the city where he grew up. When confronted with his old friends, his former girlfriend and the major sin he committed when he was young, murders and a fateful gunshot to the head result. After Brenner comes out of a coma, he begins to search for the person who tried to kill him - however, everybody claims that he himself is responsible.
