아톰 에고얀의 관심사인 진실과 현실의 본질을 탐구한 영화. "애모"는 미스터리를 표방한 도전적이고 독보적인 작품이다. 고등학생인 사이먼은 테러리스트에 대한 뉴스를 번역하는 숙제를 하던 중 엉뚱한 이야기를 지어내게 된다. 바로 임신한 여자친구의 짐에 폭탄을 넣어 비행기를 폭파하려는 남자의 이야기에 자신의 돌아가신 부모님 이야기를 대체해 넣은 것. 사이먼의 엉뚱한 실험은 신경과민인 마을 사람들을 포함하며 많은 사람에게 충격을 주고, 그 결과 거짓과 잘못된 믿음이 생겨난다.
