플레이보이의 인기 모델이었던 쉘리 달링턴은 그동안 휴 해프너 회장의 저택인 플레이보이 맨션에서 다른 모델들과 함께 생활해왔으나, 27세가 된 생일날, 플레이보이 모델로는 너무 고령이라는 이유로 맨션에서의 퇴출을 통보받는다. 9년간이나 지내온 맨션을 떠나 갈곳도 없고 특별한 기술도 없는 쉘리가 마주친 것은, 캠퍼스에서 가장 인기없는 여대생 동아리 '제타 타우 제타'의 대책없는 멤버들. 이들 멤버들은 조만간 자신들의 기숙사를 다른 동아리 '파이 요타 뮤'에게 빼앗길 처지에 놓여있다. 우여곡절 끝에 쉘리가 이들 동아리 기숙사의 사감이 되고 멤버들에게 화장법과 남자 다루기 등에 대해 가르치기 시작하면서, 쉘리와 동아리 멤버들 모두에게 큰 변화가 일어나는데…

This day-in-the-life cult comedy focuses on a group of friends working at Sully Boyar's Car Wash in the Los Angeles ghetto. The team meets dozens of eccentric customers -- including a smooth-talking preacher, a wacky cab driver and an ex-convict -- while cracking politically incorrect jokes to a constant soundtrack of disco and funk. Some of the workers find romance as the day moves along, but most are just happy to get through another shift.

세 아이와 시아버지를 돌보며 살고 있는 주부 마가렛 홀(틸다 스윈튼 분)은 고등 학생인 아들 보우가 30대 남자 다비와 사귀는 것을 알고는 남자가 운영하는 게이 클럽 '딥 엔드'를 방문해 아들을 놓아 달라고 설득한다. 그날 늦은 밤, 술에 취한 다비가 집으로 찾아오자 화가 난 보우는 그와 심하게 다툰다. 다음 날 아침, 집 앞 호숫가에서 죽어 있는 다비를 발견한 마가렛은 아들의 범행으로 생각하고 호수 깊은 곳에 시신을 버린다. 그러나 얼마 후 다비의 시신이 발견되고, 알렉(고란 비스닉 분)이라는 남자가 보우와 다비의 정사 장면이 담긴 테이프를 들고 찾아온다. 그는 5만 달러를 내놓지 않으면 테이프를 경찰에 넘기겠다고 마가렛을 협박한다. 마가렛이 남편과 연락이 되지 않아 혼자서 돈을 마련하기 위해 동분서주할 때 시아버지가 심장발작으로 쓰러진다. 약속시간이 지나자 집으로 찾아온 알렉은 예기치 않은 광경을 목격하고 마가렛을 돕는다. 마가렛의 모습에서 연민과 동정을 느낀 알렉은 자신의 몫을 포기하고 2만5천 달러를 준비하라고 말한다. 그러나 그것마저 여의치 않자 알렉의 보스가 직접 찾아와 마가렛을 위협하는데.

A brutal home-jacking goes hopelessly wrong. Dave, one of the two robbers, manages to run off, leaving his brother Kenneth behind. Four years later, Kenneth is released from prison and much has changed. Dave has his life back on track and is trying to help Kenneth however possible, but is witnessing how the highly strung Kenneth tries to win back his ex-girlfriend Sylvie.

A group of young women decide to help out at the local carwash. To attract more customers and increase profits the girls opt for a simple uniform... the bikini. Cars queue up for miles, but the authorities aren't happy with the way women are operating.

Male chauvinist Mike attempts to get an intelligent burgeoning feminist Delilah into his harem. When she resists, Mike then poses as his brother Herbert, but in the process falls in love with Delilah.

Three women seeking fame and fortune as singers in a band called Har-mo-ny toil in a car wash until they get their big break. Chris, the leader of the group, must manage both her career and her love life. The girls interact with a motley crew of co-workers and customers, but soon my get their chance to leave the car wash behind when a DJ offers them the possibility to go on tour.

Polo and Domingo spend their last days together between Ciudad Mendoza and Cordoba, in Veracruz, Mexico, before Domingo moves to another city for college. Domingo has to say goodbye to his girlfriend, Mina; while Polo deals with his feelings towards his best friend in the little time they have left.

The car repair shop is their second home and their colleagues are like family. Everyone has their quirks and is accepted for the way they are. But then comes the bad news: they are soon to be squeezed out by a more lucrative new building project.

Oli runs a car wash with his brother Keli. A customer who is obviously a man of violence shows up with a vintage car. He leaves them with the car and a warning that they better take extra good care of this car.
