피위는 동심으로 사는 재미있고도 명랑하고 쾌활한 어른이다. 이날도, 그는 자동화된 집에서 일어나 자신의 멋진 자가용인 자전거를 타고 즐겁게 쇼핑을 나선다. 도난을 방지하기 위해 자전거를 쇠사슬로 칭칭 묶어놓았음에도 불구하고 쇠사슬이 끊긴 채 없어진 것을 보고 기절한다. 이때부터 피위의 모험이 시작된다. 너무나 충격적인 일이라 피위는 엉터리 집시 예언가를 찾아가 그녀로부터 자전거가 텍사스 알라모로 갔음을 듣는다. 곧 차를 얻어 타고 텍사스로 향하는데, 빌려 탄 차의 운전수는 수배 중인 흉악범이었다. 자동차가 벼랑에서 떨어지는 바람에, 그의 차에서 내린다. 그리고 애인과 접촉했다는 죄로 거한에게 쫓기다가, 기차를 타고 모험이 계속된다. 마침내 워너 스튜디오 영화 세트장에 기증된 자전거를 발견한 피위는 자전거를 훔쳐내는데 성공하지만 쫓기다가 영화 세트장을 온통 다 망가뜨린다. 자전거와 피위의 재능으로 모두 따돌리지만 애완 동물 가게에 화제를 발견하고 동물들을 모두 구하다가, 경찰에 잡히게 된다. 하지만 그의 이야기는 영화사의 눈에 띄어 영화화되어 피위는 일약 스타가 된다. 그 영화가 상영되는 야외 영화관에 그는 그 동안 사귀게 된 모든 사람들을 초대한다.

Auf ihrem Weg zum Erbe (oder was davon übrig bleibt) geraten die Protagonisten in manche scheinbar ausweglose Situation.
