어느 불길한 운명의 날, 부패한 사업가와 사교계 명사인 그의 아내가 악명 높은 범죄 조직의 보스에게서 딸을 구하기 위해 정신없이 움직인다.

폴란드 출신의 사무원인 트렐코프스키는 투신자살을 해 죽은 여자가 살았던 파리의 허름한 아파트에 입주를 한다. 별로 친절하지 않은 이웃과 트렐코프스키 사이에 충돌이 자주 일어나고 그는 자신이 느끼는 감정의 심각성을 인지하며 자신이 이로 인한 정신적 압박감으로 인해 자살을 하게 될지도 모른다고 믿게 되는데...

전 세계인의 축제 WSG(World Sports Games)의 개최를 앞둔 일본. 이를 기념해 시속 1,000km를 자랑하는 진공 초전도 리니어의 개통이 발표된다. 모두가 이를 주목하는 가운데, WSG의 공식 후원사 대표들이 연쇄 납치를 당하고, 코난은 이 사건이 15년 전 미국 보스턴에서 발생한 WSG 연쇄 납치 사건과 관련이 있다는 것을 밝혀내는데… 이를 지켜보는 아카이 슈이치와 FBI, 그리고 절대로 만나서는 안 될 위험천만한 가족이 모인다.

건축가 펠릭스는 외로움을 많이 타면서도 결벽적인 기질 때문에 사람들과 어울리지 못한다. 여자친구 클라우디아도 그를 떠나버리고, 홀로 남은 그에게 직접 지은 근사한 집은 커다란 외로움의 공간일 뿐이다. 어느 날 밤, 펠릭스는 도움을 요청하는 낮선 사람을 집으로 들어오게 한다. 전화를 쓰겠다던 낯선 남자는 펠릭스가 부엌에 간 사이에 사라진다. 그날부터 펠릭스는 그 남자가 자신의 집에 함께 살고 있다는 느낌에 시달리는데.... 방어적 심리로 괴로워하던 펠릭스는 어느 날부터 광기 어린 대범함을 띠고 행동하기 시작한다. 그러나 살아있는 유령을 찾아나선 펠릭스를 기다리고 있는 것은 더 큰 비밀과 자신의 정체성 혼란이다. 외로움에 관한 심리극과 미스터리 스릴러의 멋진 조화, 유머감각이 돋보이는 작품이다. 데뷔감독의 작품으로는 놀라울 만한 완성도를 가진 이 작품은 2004년 시체스판타스틱영화제에서 여우주연상을 수상했다.

Then, Law's daughter Fong (Law Yim-hing) helps her father to be undercover and disguises herself as a dancer in the club and gambler Lung (Lam Kau) is also an informant for the police force. While Dog Stone is cunning enough to discover their identities, there are in fact more undercover agents in the club...Influenced by Hollywood's semi-documentary style, the film has a detailed yet complex portrayal of human nature－undercover anxieties, domineering gangsters and moral ambiguity. With its realistic chasing and action sequences, the film is nonetheless a very entertaining piece of cinema.
