1950년대 때 호러 만화 셀라 드웰러로 그린 만화가 콜린 차일드레스가 지하실에 있는 작업실에서 원고 작업을 하던 중 작품에 영감을 받은 마법서 ‘커즈 오브 더 에이션트 데드’의 내용을 소리 내어 읽었다가 만화 내용이 현실화되어 식인 괴물이 나타나 위협을 가해오자 방에 불을 질렀다 괴물과 함께 불에 타죽었는데.. 그로부터 30년 후 여성 만화가 휘트니 테일러가 콜린 차일드레스가 살던 집에 이사를 왔다가 지하 작업실에서 그가 남긴 마법서를 발견해 책 내용을 낭독하고 마법의 원과 주문의 글귀를 적은 괴물의 초상을 그렸다가 괴물을 다시 부활시키면서 자신이 이어서 그린 셀라 드웰러 만화 내용대로 현실에서 대참사가 벌어지는 이야기

There is Ilde Vivaldi, in love with Taddeus and the boxer Pericle Coccia who has an important match and falls in love with Maria. There is the Mago di Segrate trying to win world fame by levitating thirty meters high. And there is the waiter Egisto whose daughter is in a Swiss College believing her father is a man of importance.

Two college students decide to take a vacation to the Amazon. While in a small village getting supplies, they provoke the anger of a local scoundrel, whose ruffians beat them up. After renting a boat and sailing down the river in search of some good scenery, the two kids become lost and are forced to jump in the water to avoid a cascade. Now totally lost, they enter a small village, where the natives eye them mysteriously. It is here that they meet a bizarre jungle female, who happens to be the last survivor of a helicopter crash that occurred years ago. She soon develops a bond with the two adventurers...
