“할머니, 저예요.” 혼자 사는 노인에게 전화를 걸어 손자인 척 사기를 치고 다니며 사는 떠돌이 청년(후지와라 키세츠). 쇠락해 가는 아마쿠사 상점가의 악기상점 할머니가 그의 전화를 받고 따뜻하게 그를 받아들인다. 청년은 손자인 척 할머니와의 생활을 이어가면서 점차 마을에 정착해 간다. 마을 청년들과의 관계, 아마쿠사의 소리와 풍경, 그리고 할머니의 일상이 어느덧 그의 마음속에 자리를 잡는다.

Naraho town in Fukushima Prefecture is on the front-line of the government-funded nuclear power plant decommissioning work. Kokuhei Kusunoki is transferred from Aizu Wakamatsu City to Naraho Town to take over the Disaster PR Division. Murai takes Kokuhei around Fukushima including areas washed away by the tsunami. There is a series of Buddha statue thefts in Kyoto. Beniko, a high school girl, gets the Buddha statue at her family's temple stolen and has her parents killed at the same time. She needs to know what caused the death of a parents and dreams of revenge. She goes on a fantastical journey to ultimately face the demon. The entire film is produced by hand drawing all the gods 'manifesto animation' or 'gekimation' based on the amazing hand drawings.

Kyogokudo is a used book seller who doubles as an onmyouji, or Heian style occultist. His friend Sekiguchi brings him the story of a woman who has been pregnant for twenty months. Sekiguchi investigates further with the help of his friend Enokizu, a detective with the unusual ability to see people's memories.
