1857년 벨기에 림부르크에서 악마 숭배 의식에 필요한 8명의 아이들의 머리를 모으기 위해 연쇄살인을 벌이다 체포되는 사건이 발생한다. 시간은 현재로 바뀌어서 사고로 돌아가신 아버지의 유작원고를 찾기 위해 크리스는 친구들과 함께 벨기에를 찾는다. 원고의 배경이 되었던 탄광으로 향하던 중, 연쇄 살인범의 영혼이 그들에게 빙의된다.
