이제 막 50세에 접어든 마리온(Marion: 지나 로랜드 분)은 시회적으로 성공한 여성이다. 철학과 교수로서 꽤 신망도 얻었고 심장전문으로 유명한 남편 켄(Ken: 이안 홈 분)과의 재혼도 원만해 비교적 생활이 안정이 되자 그녀는 새 책을 집필하기 위한 사무실을 새로 얻는다. 그러나 방음이 불완전해서인지 옆 사무실에서 들려오는 상담 내용에 신경이 쓰여 집필에 어려움을 겪는다. 뭔가 슬픔을 가득 안고 사는 듯한 한 임산부의 애절한 목소리에 이끌린 마리온은 그녀를 만나고 나서부터 자신의 삶을 뒤돌아 보게 된다. 아버지의 동년배였던 첫 남편 샘(Sam: 필립 보스코 분)과의 생활, 끈질기게 사랑을 갈구하던 래리(Larry: 진 핵크만 분)와의 추억, 절친했던 친구 클레어와의 불화 등 여태까지 자신이 성공적이었다고 믿고 있던 삶이 허상이었음을 깨닫는다. 게다가 남편이 친구 부인과 깊은 관계라는 사실을 알게 되는데...

A group of teenagers win a trip to a summer camp they had attended as children. However, soon after they get there they begin to disappear one by one. The survivors suspect that the disappearances may be connected to the death of a handicapped child at the camp years before.
Dr. Honeywell, a crusader against sin, has the police close down the local strip palace, putting Allison, Bobbie, Trixie, and Fern out of business. The girls decide to start a new clean business, delivering pizzas. The Pizza is a flop, but the delivery girls are a success! As one day while Trixie is delivering a pizza her top comes off, the customers love it! This sparks off an idea and the pizza business has turned into a stripping success as "Penelope's Party Favors."
