블랙골드 (Black Gold, Black Thirst, Day of the Falcon) 2011년 프랑스,이탈리아,카타르 1957년 출간된 스위스출신 소설가이며 모험가 '한스 뤼쉬(Hans Ruesch, 1913년 5월 ~ 2007년 8월)'의 '심장의 남쪽;현대 아라비아의 소설(South of the Heart: A Novel of Modern Arabia, The Great Thirst and The Arab)'을 영화화한 작품이다. 1929년 아라비아반도를 배경을 갈등하는 두 부족 '살마(Salmaah)'와 '호베이카(Hobeica)'가 석유를 찾아 아라비아를 찾아온 서구 제국주의 자본로 인해 전쟁을 벌인다. 전통을 지키려는 노력과 석유를 이용하여 부유함을 획득하려는 갈등 속에서 아라비아의 석유제국이 탄생기를 보여준다. 이 영화의 예산은 5천5백만달러로 '아랍'을 배경으로 하는 영화에 대한 아랍의 지원을 받은 영화 중 가장 높은 금액이다
