여행 도중 잠시 들린 나이트클럽에서 아름다운 여인을 만난 월터는 그녀를 한참 동안 바라본다. 차를 타고 다시 길을 향하던 월터는 방금 전의 그 여인이 피를 흘리며 길에 쓰러진 것을 보고 서둘러 병원에 데리고 간다. 그후 여인과 사랑을 나눈 월터는 꿈인지 현실인지 모를 기묘한 꿈을 꾸고, 다음 날 아침 자신의 목에 난 이빨 자국을 발견한다.
