Drama set at the end of World War Two in China. A young woman, fighting for the independence of her homeland is tortured for the whereabouts of the treasure left by her war profiteer father.
봄이 와서 모든 나무들은 새싹을 띄우고 있었지만 아직도 사람들의 영혼은 일본의 지배하에 있었다. 잃어버린 아버지의 나라를 구하겠다는 애국심으로 충만된 장치국, 일국 형제는 더이상 일본인의 앞잡이인 봉구의 등살을 견딜수 없었다. 봉구는 일국을 사모하는 영림에 눈독을 들이고 있으나 번번이 실패한다. 마침내 그는 영림과 장의 어머니를 수감한다. 봉구는 모든 수단을 동원하여 영림을 자기의 어머니로 삼고자 한다. 그러나 그녀는 장에 대한 정절을 지킨다. 이 두 연인은 탈옥할 기회를 노린다. 봉구는 교도소장이 되고 그의 행동은 더욱 포악해진다. 결국 봉구를 죽이고 여자들은 탈옥에 성공하게 된다.
A country-bred simple young man wants to marry a city-bred modern girl. As he meets some city-bred girls, he changes his mind little by little. He thinks they are not suitable to his him. Realizing that a country-bred girl who understands his character and background is suitable to him, he changes his mind.
Ok-Nyo, daughter of poor but noble family, falls in love with a young noble man Mr. Jeong. Hyang-A, daughter of chief of district, is so jealous that set a fire in Ok-Nyo's house using her father's power. Ok-Nyo and her family helplessly die. Mr. Jeong has to marry to Hyang-A because he is forced to do so by chief of district. Every night Ok-Nyo's resented spirit appears in the disguise of Hyang-A to torment Hyang-A. After the days of terrible horror, Hyang-A regrets what she did and comes back to Mr. Jeong.
