[킬, 베이비... 킬!]은 바니타스를 주제로 한 정물화처럼 그로테스크한 형태로 보는 이를 압도한다. 한 여인이 알 수 없는 힘에 이끌려 뾰족한 창살을 향해 몸을 던지는 도입부부터가 예사롭지 않다. 의문의 사건이 터지면서 에스위 박사가 마을로 파견되고 수사를 위해 시체를 부검하려 든다. 하지만 마을 주민들은 저주를 받을 것이라며 부검을 반대하고 그 와중에 또 다른 희생자가 생겨난다. 여러 경로를 통해 수사망을 좁혀나가던 박사는 이 모든 사건이 그랍스 가문에서 시작됐음을 알게 된다. 은 고딕풍의 '귀신들린 집'을 콘셉트로 내세우지만 미스터리한 금발 소녀(실제로는 '소년'이 가발을 쓰고 연기했다.)의 존재는 좀 더 기괴하고 독특한 분위기를 창조한다. 이에 경탄한 스탠리 큐브릭과 마틴 스콜세지는 각각 (1980)과 (1988)에서 그들 나름의 창조적인 방식으로 금발 소녀를 등장시켜 에 오마주를 바쳤다.

In spite of the stylistic peculiarities of the filmmakers, we find in each of them the same desire not to affirm anything, not to judge, but to quite simply show.
