This 1985 Spanish film reveals one of the many terrible aspects of 16th century Spain, still plagued by the radical Christian Inquisition, one of a plethora of difficulties Spaniards faced at the time. Spanish super star Carmen Maura plays a nun who agrees to a selfless scam, a fake stigmata, only to avoid separation from her lover, another nun. It's a serious and passionate work, highlighting the theme of outspoken women-against-repression, seen in other good gay and lesbian films. This is not a lesbian "Nun sense" or another "Dark Habits" (by Almodovar, which also starred Carmen Maura, and also set in a Spanish convent, with some lesbian nuns). Perhaps, best of all, 'Extramuros' is realistic and frank. It isn't shy about its characters' sexuality. Their sexuality, and the film as a whole are genuine.

After the death of the Father, the women of the family gather at an old isolated house. Old rivalries surface causing nobody to notice the youngest daughter, Loli, sneaking out to meet up with a local hermit. The naïve girl quickly ends up pregnant. After Loli is raped whilst travelling home, everything comes to light and causes unexpected changes for the family.

Arturo, who has just turned 15, is in love with 13-year-old Paloma. In a moment of passion at a ski lodge while on a field trip to the mountains with their schoolmates, he gets her pregnant. Afraid of what may happen to them if their strict (but somewhat inattentive) parents or any of the rather straight-laced teachers at their Catholic school find out about the baby, Arturo and Paloma turn to their young friends and relatives for help instead. This proves to be something of a coming-of-age for everyone involved as they try to help the young couple get married, conceal the pregnancy from their parents, and prepare for the birth. The many adventures they have while doing this, while often amusing, help drive home to them that the old wives' tale about storks bringing babies is just a myth (hence the title), and pregnancy and childbirth are actually very serious matters.

Shows the unfailing love of two women for the same man, one as his mistress, the other as his wife. The lives of these characters intertwine and are determined by the variegated fabric of delicate tradition and established vices shaky politics and intrigue of the society they live in. Sebastian Palomo Linares is a bullfighter that has reached success in his career. Marisol is a rich girl that likes to run with her car. One day, they meet on the road, and he deeply falls in love with her, but Marisol, who loves him too, doesn't seem to be ready to be with a man that risks his life every time he has a bullfight.

His daughter Ana, whom he has not seen in all this time, decides to spend the holidays with her, taking advantage of the fact that her boyfriend has gone to study in Germany. During her stay in the sanatorium, Ana meets Mario, an attractive young man somewhat unbalanced, who tries to seduce her. Although at first she does not show any interest, little by little she becomes attracted to him.

Roberto decides to ask for permission at the office because he suspects his wife has a lover and wants to catch her. A friend of the protagonist offers to investigate the woman with the intention of giving sufficient evidence of thedeception. However, he soon discovers that his wife knows his plans.

Mari Pepa, a beautiful laundress of Madrid, and Felipe, a carpenter, are in love but they are always quarreling over trifles. However, she must marry with the fence Don Leo to help his father, a drunk player who has committed a robbery and has determined the family jewels.

A girl has two suitors: a famous bullfighter who is in love and rejecting a pawn. His relationship with the bullfighter is hampered by the harassment to which he submits. After suffering a serious catch, the bullfighter lifesaving through the locket she gave him.
