Teenagers celebrate graduation from an orphanage by spending all the money in two days. They rent a luxury cottage and arrange a real holiday. These two days are the time when dreams come true. The rental of the house ends, but the holiday should not end: the house turns into a fortress. And even when the assault begins, the guys expect that everything will end soon and dawn will come.

Egor is a vet at a training facility for hunting dogs in a remote region of the country. Surrounded by foxes, deer, badgers, and dogs, he lives in a small building next to the house of the facility's master. He treats the dogs, cleans the kennels, oversees the workers, and meets with clients and their dogs. It's easier for him to get along with dogs than with people. Egor is willing to take on any job to get closer to the facility's master and his near and dear. He wants the impossible - to become a member of that family.

전쟁으로 분열된 우크라이나 동부 돈바스 지역의 전쟁과 분열 상황을 희화한 작품. 는 연결되지 않는 파편적 장소와 에피소드들로 우크라이나의 현주소를 드러낸다. 거리, 회의장, 산부인과, 검문소, 버스, 사무실 등 다양한 공간에서 사람들은 돌출 행동을 한다. 관습과 편견 나아가 전형성을 기반으로 하는 동시에 뒤트는 이 영화는 마치 한바탕 소동극을 보는 것처럼 인물들의 부조리한 행동에 주목한다. 그리고 행위가 일어나는 공간을 지속적으로 의심하게 한다. 영화 속 공간이 모두 연극의 무대 공간 같기 때문이다. 전체를 관통하는 내러티브 없이 개별 인물들의 말과 행위를 나열하듯 풀어내던 영화는 점차 왜곡되고 부패한 사회를 마주하게 한다. 규칙도, 인권도, 신뢰도 무너진 사회에서 분열은 계속된다. 극의 마지막 장면은 지금까지의 소동들에 대한 또 다른 층위를 만들어낸다. 시작과 끝 사이에 일어난 다양한 상황에 대한 새로운 독해를 불러오는 놀라운 통증의 순간이다.

A series of odd coincidences has left Lukas, an interpreter for an OSCE military checkpoint inspection tour, stranded near a small southern Ukrainian steppe town. With nowhere to turn, this city boy finds shelter at the home of a colorful local named Vova. With Vova as his guide, Lukas is confronted by a universe beyond his imagination, one in which life seems utterly detached from any identifiable structure. Fascinated by his host and his host's daughter Marushka, with whom he is rapidly falling in love, Lukas’s contempt for provincial life slowly melts away and sets him on a quest for a happiness he had never known could exist.

Since the morning, the entire population of the planet has been concerned about one news: a red comet is approaching the Earth. A year ago, scientists only assumed this collision, a month ago they tried to establish the exact date - and finally, it was just announced by all communication sources: the end cannot be avoided. Moreover, it will happen tomorrow. There is one day left until... People of different classes, nationalities and faiths in different parts of a large country - each in their own way - are trying to spend this last day of their lives.

It is a story about the Soviet worker Pyotr and the German engineer Hans, who came to the USSR before the war on a business trip. At a Soviet plant the German team works in cooperation with Russian specialists. Once Hans makes a mistake which causes the explosion of the furnace and human losses. Hans finds himself at the mercy of Pyotr, the only witness to his actions near the furnace. Pyotr also depends on Hans, because Pyotr’s very presence near the furnace entails accusation of subversive actions and a death sentence. Mutual suspicion gives way to silent sympathy and later friendship. They even look like each other, both have small children. Pyotr secretly leaves the town with his family but Hans feels loss rather that relief at the disappearance of the embarrassing witness.

독일과 러시아가 대치한 2차 세계대전이 영화의 배경이고, 지금은 독립한 벨라루스에서 벌어진 사건을 다루고 있다. 철도 노동자인 수셰냐가 게릴라에게 끌려간다. 기차 탈선 사고가 일어나자 그들은 수셰냐를 독일에 협조한 반역자로 몰고 간다. 그러나, 총살 직전에 게릴라가 총에 맞으면서 상황은 변모한다. 는 회상의 스타일을 통해 수세냐를 포함한 주요 인물들에게 어떤 일들이 일어났는지를 보여준다. 그것은 이들을 둘러싼 역사적인 맥락을 제공해 주며, 그 누구의 잘못도 아닌 전쟁의 참상 그 자체라는 것을 이해하도록 만들어 준다. 애국심에 불타는 게릴라들도, 민중들을 괴롭히는 독일병사들도, 모두가 전쟁에서 주어진 역할을 하는 인물들이다. 그 가운데 아무 힘이 없는 노동자 수셰냐가 있다. 흥미로운 것은 이 모든 혼돈 속에서도 끝내 살아남는 자가 수셰냐다. 로즈니차 감독은 삶은 민중과 함께 계속된다고 말한다. Following a brawl, Captain Ignat, who is traumatised by the death of his daughter, is ordered together with a regular soldier to find a deserter and bring him back via Moscow to stand before a military court. Although they locate the young soldier, their journey across the wintry moloch that is Moscow is slow and tortuous. Before long, the unlikely trio find themselves drawn into a chaotic maelstrom of violence, corruption, criminality, degradation and squalidness. In the face of the monstrous malaise and everyday horror of life in Russia, the gradual breakdown of the film’s anti-hero becomes a metaphor for Russian society.

Georgy is driving a load of freight into Russia when, after an unpleasant encounter with the police at a border crossing, he finds himself giving a lift to a strange old man with disturbing stories about his younger days in the Army. After next picking up a young woman who works as a prostitute and is wary of the territory, Georgy finds himself lost, and despite asking some homeless men for help, he’s less sure than he was before of how to make his way back where he belongs. As brutal images of violence and alienation cross the screen, Georgy’s odyssey becomes darker and more desperate until it reaches an unexpected conclusion.

Lesha Shultes, a pickpocket, leads the ordinary life of an average urban creature. The only extraordinary thing about Shultes is that he carries a little notebook with him and notes down everything. This minimalist drama of a 'small man' in a metropolis delivers an existential message with a distinct Russian flavour.

Set amidst stunning Ukrainian winter landscapes, vanishing villages and emerging feeling of alienation between people in a post-Soviet society, Stepne is a story of a mature man who comes back home from the city to take care of his dying mother. The mother’s passing, together with a meeting with his brother and a woman he loves make him reflect on the life he’s had and choices he’s made along the way. And then, just before her death, the mother tells Anatoly about a treasure she has buried inside the shed…
