This is a delightfully retro 45 minutes of experimental surf film shot entirely on Super 16mm.

Over three years in the making, 'The Heart & The Sea' explores the joy that lies at the very centre of a surfing life: family, friends & a shared intimacy with the sea.

Surfing is supposed to be an individual act. It's supposed to elicit creativity and take place in a natural environment. It's supposed to have moments familiar and original. It's supposed to be both elegant and raw. Surfing isn’t supposed to be choreographed. The surfer and board do what they want. Let them be seen as they want to be seen; let them be heard through only their motions. Let them surf in climates warm and cold, on waves big and small, on boards long and short, in countries near and far. Let the camera capture what it can. Let there be Sight Sound. From the surfer-director of Picaresque, is another film without dialogue. Another group of talented individuals doing what they do best, with an eclectic soundtrack mixed-in to enhance the vibe.

Dear & Yonder is a surf movie created by Tiffany Campbell and Andria Lessler. It features a dynamic cast of ladies, each of their stories is unique, but a spirit of adventure and love they have for the ocean connects them.

The modus operandi of the Sprout is to show the surfing culture how truly lucky we are to live in the lush life of the ocean experience, and emphasize all the diverse possibilities we have in accessing this fountain of youth. Riding eggs, fishes, traditional sytle longboards and the modern shorty. Every wave is a new possiblity. Shot entirely on 16mm film.

Hi, this is Herb. I'd like to take you on a surf adventure as I see it through the eye of my camera. First stop California's classic Rincon. I put the camera in my water housing and paddled out with Dwayne DeSoto and Zack Howard. Taking off behind them as planned I was able to capture their surfing experience from a lot of unique angles as we played on the waves together. This winter the surf was epic on the North Shore and I was lucky enough to be there with my camera. I caught Bonga, Joel, Dino, Kanoa and this years new rookies ripping Pipeline in all it's different moods. Sometimes I got so stoked I had to put away the camera and go out myself. It was great!! With the swell coming up I called Devon Howard and arranged to meet him and some of the gang at Haliewa. Then I was on to Waimea to film Giant paddle in surf. It was an awesome sight.
