이한상 감독의 무송은 무송이 호랑이를 때려잡고 보병도두가 되어 형 무대랑 재회하고 이후 형수인 반금련에게 독살된 형의 원수를 갚기 위해 반금련과 정부인 서문경을 살해하는 이야기를 다루고 있다. 반면 장철의 쾌활림은 서문경을 살해하고 난 후 귀양을 가서 금안표 시은의 부탁을 받고 장충을 혼내주는데 그를 계기로 도감 장몽방에게 누명을 써 다시 귀양을 가다 장몽방의 사주를 받은 자객을 죽이고 돌아와 장몽방 일가를 몰살시킨 후 도피하는 이야기이다.

The director Hsin Chi is a Taiwanese, and is famous for the Taiwanese-speaking movies. This movie was his first movie shot for Hong Kong company, Shaw Brothers.

쇠퇴해가던 금룡파는 일월방에 밀려 망하고, 천추만이 살아남아 복수의 기회를 엿본다. 우연히 거지를 도와주고 그녀와 의형제를 맺지만, 그녀는 일월방 사람인 효안이다. 어느 날 일월방에 여자 자객이 나타나고, 여자 자객을 따라가던 천추는 뇌전천의 독표창을 맞고 야생에서 살고 있는 여자를 만나 구함을 받게 된다. 자객을 도와주었다는 이유로 일월방주는 백룡에게 효안을 제거하라 하고, 효안은 천추, 야생소녀, 여자 자객과 협공으로 일월방주를 무찌르지만, 천추는 치명적인 상처를 입고 죽는다.
