Screenplay
Tatsuru Sawada works as an assistant cameramen. He spends his days just wasting away. To change himself, he joins the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers. At the training camp. he causes trouble. He opposes Kazunari Hamura and frequently breaks the rule at the camp. Tatsuru and Kazunari are then sent to the Philippines with Shiho Nomura . Even in the Philippines, Tatsuru and Kazunari do not get along as well. One day, Tatsuru goes to Baguio to take a picture. There, he meets a boy named Noel and his older sister Angela. He worries about the situation in the Philippines. He feels helpless and goes back to Japan. 8 years later, Tatsuru and Kazunari meet again in the Tōhoku region where the great earthquake and tsunami occurred.

화장이나 패션에 관심이 많은 10살 소녀 ‘카가미 아츠코’. 어느 날 그녀는 거울 요정으로부터 마법의 콤팩트를 받는다. 마법의 콤팩트로 언제든 22살 대학생의 모습으로 변신할 수 있지만 비밀이 밝혀지면 더 이상 마법을 사용할 수 없다. ‘아츠코’는 이런 마법의 콤팩트로 좋아하는 화장이나 패션을 즐길 수 있어 신이 난다. 어린 ‘아츠코’는 친구들과 놀러 같 유원지에서 우연히 만난 ‘하야세 나오토’에게 반하게 된다. 다음 날, 어른의 모습으로 백화점을 누비던 ‘아츠코’는 그 곳에서 ‘나오토’와 재회하게 되지만 ‘나오토’는 어른이 된 그녀를 알아보지 못한다. 그런 ‘나오토’는 ‘아츠코’에게 화장품 사용 소감을 물어보고 그녀의 솔직한 평에 호감을 갖게 된다. 결국 ‘아츠코’는 화장품 회사에서 일하는 ‘나오토’의 눈에 들어 그곳에서 아르바이트를 하게 된다. ‘아츠코’는 화장품 회사에서 일하면서 지금까지 경험해 보지 못한 어른들의 사회를 경험하게 된다. ‘아츠코’는 마법의 콤팩트로 ‘나오토’를 도와주기 위해 애쓰지만 그것이 번번히 위기를 가지고 온다. 자신이 배운 것과 너무나도 다른 어른들의 사회에서 갈팡질팡하는 ‘아츠코’. 하지만 ‘아츠코’는 가장 어린이다운 모습으로 ‘나오토’에게 희망을 주며 그의 사랑을 받게 되는데… 과연 ‘아츠코’는 절대 말하면 안 되는 비밀을 지키며 ‘나오토’와 함께할 수 있을까?

On Christmas day, a bomb explodes in a shopping mall. The explosion was perpetrated by a serial bomber. A 9-year-old boy Kuro Hazama and his mother Mitsuko (Naho Toda) are seriously and transfered to a university hospital. With the elite skills of surgeon Dr. Jontaro Honma (Masachika Ichimura), Kuro survives, but is shocked to learn his mother is in a coma. Dr. Honma tells Tokio that when medical science advances, Michiko might one day awake. Tokio decides then to become a doctor. 15 years later, 24-year-old Kuro is a medical student and his mother is still in a coma. Kuro researches ways to awaken his mother whilst practising medicine without a licence.
