The police and British security forces call in Professor Van Helsing to help them investigate Satanic ritual which has been occurring in a large country house, and which has been attended by a government minister, an eminent scientist and secret service chief. The owner of the house is a mysterious property tycoon who is found to be behind a sinister plot involving a deadly plague. It is in fact Dracula who, sick of his interminable existence, has decided that he must end it all in the only possible way- by destroying every last potential victim.

스릴러로서는 조금 떨어지지만 드라마는 즐길 만하다는 평을 받았다. 렉스 블랙(Rex Black: 로렌스 하비 분)은 아내 스텔라(Stella Black: 리 레믹 분)와 짜고 글라이더 사고를 위장해 자신이 사망한 것처럼 만든 다음 스페인으로 떠난다. 스텔라가 보험금 지불을 기다리는 동안 렉스는 스페인에서 호주인 갑부의 여권을 훔쳐 그의 행세를 하며 스텔라를 기다 린다. 보험 회사 직원인 스티븐 매독스(Stephen: 앨런 베이츠 분)는 렉스의 죽음에 의심을 품지만 스텔라는 결국 보험금을 받아 내서 스페인으로 떠난다. 스페인에서 재회한 스텔라와 렉스, 두 사람은 큰 돈을 손에 넣은 것에 행복해 하며 호사스런 날들을 보낸다. 하지만 그런 행복도 잠시였다. 휴가를 맞아 스페인을 찾았다는 스티븐이 그들 앞에 나타난 것이다. 처음에 스티븐을 기억하지 못하던 스텔라는 그가 보험 회사 직원이라는 사실을 알고 긴장하고 그를 멀리하지만 스티븐은 스텔 라와 렉스 주위에 계속 머문다. 스티븐의 행동 하나하나에 렉스와 스텔라는 계속 긴장하고 스티븐의 존재에 위기감을 느낀 렉스는 스티븐을 죽일 계획을 한다. 한편 스티븐은 스텔라에게 사랑을 고백하는데.

During a bank robbery, the manager and a cashier are locked in the strongroom, while the crooks escape. Later, when the gang realise that their plan to release the pair has gone wrong, they return to the bank to try and release them before the police turn up.

Returning from a business trip, toy salesman Simon Scott is caught attempting to smuggle a wristwatch bought for his wife's birthday through Customs. 농기구 회사의 영업사원인 버드(George Bird: 알렉 기네스 분)는 불치병 진단을 받는다. 의사는 외로운 그에게 주변을 정리하고, 여행을 다니면서 남은 인생을 보내라고 충고한다. 버드는 직장을 그만두고 그 동안 모아둔 돈을 찾아 유명 인사들이 출입하는 고급 호텔에 투숙한다. 사회적으로 상류층에 속하는 투숙객들은 돈도 많고 생활에 여유도 있지만 가식적이고 이중적인 모습을 보인다. 한편 순수하고 다정다감한 버드에게 투숙객 및 종업원들 모두 호감을 갖게되고, 버드는 호텔에 묵고 있는 발명가로부터 사업적인 제의를 받는다든가 정치가 등으로부터 여러 가지 제안을 받는다. 일상적인 욕심을 벗어나 인생을 정리하는 그에게는 행운도 따라주어 경마, 카드 등으로 돈을 벌게 되고 그 돈으로 어려움에 처한 주변 사람들에게 도움을 준다. 그리고 호텔 객실 관리원인 풀 부인(Mrs. Poole: 케이 월쉬 분)과의 애정도 싹튼다. 하지만 인생에서 처음 느껴보는 이런 행복도 죽음을 앞둔 버드에게는 진정한 행복으로 느껴지지 않는데...
