Vanessa, a television reporter covering a story of a farmer attacked by his chickens, discovers that this is not an isolated incident. Travelling to Spain with her cameraman Peter, the two discover the survivors of a town wiped out by the birds thirty years ago. Meanwhile, attacks continue as a child's birthday party ends in tragedy and doves devour a poultry farmer and his wife. Vanessa soon comes to the conclusion that the birds are organizing themselves against the ecological ravages of man, but time is running out as thousands of birds launch an attack against a train Vanessa is traveling on.

A newlywed couple move into the mansion of the bride's recently dead aunt. Soon strange things begin to happen when the various tenants and servants of the mansion don't want to leave and the bride and groom are in a deadly predicament.

Roger is the owner of a very successful and exclusive health club. His gym attracts good looking women and men who want to pump iron, aerobicise and mostly socialize. Roger and his beautiful aerobics instructor, Annie, work out together in and out of the club. Annie pushes Roger to complete in the National Aerobithon. But for Roger to even come close to winning he must overcome his fear of defeat - in front of Annie and the world.

Paul, a mercenary in Africa, decides that he can no longer work for the Organization because of their brutal tactics. But the evil Organization refused to release him, and Paul finds that he must fight his way out.

로라 멀비와 피터 월렌은 1974년에 영국으로 돌아온 이후, 당시 번영 중이던 실험영화 환경 속에서 활발한 영화 문화와 국고 보조금 덕분에 영국영화협회 제작위원회의 지원으로 를 제작했다. 그들은 다시 한 번 고대 그리스 신화를 이야기의 출발점으로 잡았다: 지그문트 프로이트가 정신분석이론에 키 텍스트로 사용한 오이디푸스의 이야기가 그것이다. 이 영화는 대칭으로 구성되어 있다. 멀비의 장면 뒤에 짧은 시작과 끝나는 장면으로 이어지는데 첫 번째 장면에서는 그녀가 오이디푸스 신화의 문화적 역사적 의의를 조사하고 스핑크스는 '질문하는 목소리, 수수께끼를 내는 목소리'로서 영화 속에서 서술자의 역할을 할 것이라고 설명한다. 13분할로 나뉜 이 영화의 중심 부분은 루이즈의 이야기를 들려주고 있다. 루이즈는 남편과 헤어진 후 일과 육아 사이에서 균형을 잡으려 노력하고 있는 젊은 어머니이다. 영화가 주부와 어머니에서부터 권능감과 정체성을 가진 여성에 이르는 여정의 다양한 측면을 추적하기 위해 각 분할은정 고된 위치에서 360도 회전하는 파노라마 카메라 촬영으로 구성된다.
