"붉은 망토(붉은 모자)"는 그림 형제 버전을 포함해서 여러 형태로 각색되어 있지만, 안젤라 카터는 이를 최초로 문자로 기록한 샤를 페로의 이야기를 직접적으로 모티브를 삼는다. 그것은 바로 길에서 만난 신사를 조심하라는 고전적 교훈극에 대한 페미니즘적 시각이다. 영화전체에 일관되게 유지되는 정서 또한 소녀의 성적 호기심과 관련된 여러 은유적인 암시들이다. 초, 중반에 붉은 망토 소녀는 부모의 잠자리를 엿보고 출산에 대한 호기심을 암시적으로 드러내는데, 후반부에 이르면 자신을 외딴 길로 유인하기 위해 혈안이 되어있던 또래의 소년을 거부하더니 길에서 만남 낯선 남자의 노골적인 유혹엔 암묵적으로 동의한다. 특히 후자의 경우엔 안젤라 카터가 말하고자 하는 원작의 핵심요소인 소녀의 성적 욕망이 직접적으로 표현된 부분이다. 영화의 엔딩은 논리적으로 해석되지 않는다. 하지만 이런 모호함이야 말고 [늑대의 혈족]의 핵심 요소라 할 수 있다. 일반적인 늑대인간 영화를 기대하는 관객들에게는 실망감을 안겨줄 테니, 독특한 분위기의 고딕 동화에 관심이 있는 관객들에겐 좀 더 추천하고 싶은 작품이다.
테러리스트들이 파리의 에펠탑을 점거하고 관광객을 인질로 하여 프랑스 정부에게 자기들의 요구를 들어주지 않으면 수소폭탄을 터뜨리겠다고 위협하는 사건이 발생한다. 데일리 플래닛 신문사의 유능한 기자 로이스(Lois Lane: 마곳 키더 분)는 이미 현장에서 취재를 하는데, 뒤늦게 그 사실을 알게 된 슈퍼맨(Superman/Clark Kent: 크리스토퍼 리브 분)이 날아가서 엘리베이트 밑에 묶여 떨어지는 루이스를 구하고, 수소폭탄을 지구 밖으로 날려보낸다. 이때 수소폭탄은 클립튼 행성이 폭발하기 전 슈퍼맨의 아버지 칼 알과 몇몇 판관들이 재판하여 '팬텀 존'에 가둬버린 악당 조드 사령관(General Zod: 테렌스 스탬프 분) 일당을 자유롭게 만드는 우주의 폭발을 일으킨다. 자유의 몸이 된 세 악당은 달을 탐사 중인 지구인 우주비행사를 죽이고 지구로 찾아오는데, 그들은 슈퍼맨과 맞먹는 괴력을 갖고 온갖 나쁜 짓을 한다. 한편 신혼 부부에게서 폭리를 취하는 나이아가라 폭포 주변의 호텔을 취재하기 위해, 클락과 로이스는 신혼 부부로 가장을 하고 잠입하는데, 폭포를 구경하던 한 남자 아이가 장난을 치다가 떨어지자 슈퍼맨이 나타나서 구해준다. 그 순간 클락이 없었다는 사실에 로이스는 그가 슈퍼맨이라고 확신하게 되고, 호텔에서 모닥불 위에 넘어져도 손을 덴 흔적이 없자, 클락의 정체는 드러나고 만다. 슈퍼맨은 로이스를 자신의 얼음 요새로 데려가서 모든 사실을 알려주고 두 사람의 사랑을 위해서 슈퍼맨의 능력을 버리고 인간이 되는 길을 택하는데.
Bus driver Stan Butler agrees to marry Suzy, much to the anguish of Mum, her son-in-law, Arthur, and daughter Olive. How, they wonder, will they ever manage without Stan's money coming in? Then Arthur is sacked, and Stan agrees to delay the wedding. Meanwhile, he hits on an idea: Arthur should learn to drive a bus. Somehow he does just that, and even gets a job. Stan then blackmails the Depot Manager into giving him the job of driver on the new money-making Special Tours Bus. A great idea ...if only the inspector hadn't taken Stan on his trial run to the Windsor Safari Park
A strange new virus has appeared, which only attacks strains of grasses such as wheat and rice, and the world is descending into famine and chaos. Architect John, along with his family and friends, is making his way from London to his brother's farm in northern England where there will hopefully be food and safety for all of them.
A motley crew of British characters ride The San Ferry Ann to the shores of France where they embark on a weekend of calamity. The campervan family led by Dad and Mum (David Lodge and Joan Sims) create chaos from the moment they set their tires on the shore resulting in frequent run-ins with the Gendarme, while Lewd Grandad (Wilfred Brambell) finds his own misadventures with a newly acquainted friend, a mad German ex-soldier (Ron Moody). Also aboard for the ride is a saucy hitchhiker (Barbara Windsor) who causes a few heads to turn including that of a fellow traveller (Ronnie Stevens) who pursues her affection with comic results. By the end of this weekend the French may well be wishing to say 'au revoir' to these trouble-making tourists. San Ferry Ann is a humorous take on the tradition of the British get-away. A classic sound effect comedy that sits with the likes of similarly praised titles such as 'The Plank', 'Futtock's End' and 'Rhubarb Rhubarb'.
