So he participates in a huge auction in the mountains but he makes a fool of himself. At the same time he ends up being in the netherworld, and hovers between life and death.

다리가 불편한 젊은 생물고고학자 유키수케는 거리에서 우리의 붕어빵과 비슷한 타이야키을 파는 젊은 처녀 코요미를 알게 되고 그녀에게 매료되어 그녀의 노점을 자주 찾는다. 두 사람은 함께 대화하고 자주 어울리던 중 코요미가 자동차 사고를 당해 병원에 입원하는 일이 발생한다. 좀처럼 의식을 찾지 못하던 그녀가 마침내 의식을 되찾지만 일시적으로 과거를 기억하지 못하는 후유증을 앓게 된다. 유키수케는 전처럼 그녀의 가장 가까운 곳에 있으려고 노력하지만 그녀의 과거에 대한 기억들은 그를 어렵게 만든다.

Shinichi Tominaga is a prosecutor, newly appointed to the special investigation division for the Tokyo district prosecutors' office. He is currently busy with a case involving suspicious donations to powerful politician Yohei Tachibana. Shinichi then receives a mysterious message from his friend Samon Kondo. Hana is a nineteen-year old expectant mother. She travels with her grandmother's ashes to her grandmother's house. Hana's mother, who gave birth to Hana when she herself was a teenager, now resides in the home. They are on the outs with each other, but are forced to stay with each other when Hana's boyfriend fails to show.

One morning Hikaru Hino, a high school student living in Hakodate, wakes up to find she has grown a tail. She quickly cancels her first date with classmate Hayato, complicating their relationship. Hikaru's sister makes a fake tail to cheer her up and takes her out around town together, but a reporter captures their photo which leads to a huge commotion in Hakodate. As the tale commotion reaches a fever pitch, another person with a tail, Mr. Yoshida, shows up. As a result, the commotion grows into a full-blown incident that involves the whole of Hakodate.

This documentary-style film recreates the infamous Asama Sanso Incident of 1972 wherein an extreme faction of the Students Allied Red Army holed themselves up in a mountainous cabin in the dead of winter. By the time the police finally caught up with them, it was discovered that they had murderously turned upon themselves in a bizarre extension of their radical philosophy. This event virtually marked the end of the Student Revolution.

The business faction dismiss the old spiritual master and choose Kazuo to lead their group.
