Ah Wei used to be a policeman but his many battle scars and bullet wounds have demoted him to the daily grind of a sercurity guard. His existence is anything but boring, however, as this Hong Kong film like all the others, thrives on shoot-outs, chases, and enough violence to keep an audience awake.

카지노에서 어리숙한 강도질을 하던 허관걸(許冠傑, Samuel HUI)은 감옥에 가게 되고 그곳에서 천생 도박꾼 허관문을 만나게 된다. 둘은 출소 후 함께 어울리며 크게 한탕 할 것을 꿈꾼다. 이 와중에 허관걸은 허관문의 여동생과 친밀해진다. 허씨네 형제의 또 다른 주인공 허관영(許冠英, Ricky Hui)은 해변의 건달 포커꾼으로 잠깐 출연한다. (설명에 따르자면 이 장면은 원래 없었는데 나중에 일본 상영시 추가된 장면이라고 한다) 몇 번의 소소한 도박판에서 재미를 못 본 이들은 결국 도박장 보스의 돈을 등쳐먹기로 하고 대담한 사기극을 펼친다. 결국 큰돈을 벌지만 허관문은 또다시 감옥으로 가고 남은 허관걸은 도박으로 그 돈을 탕진하여 결국 빈손이 되고 만다
