어느 대학 연구소에서 일하는 ‘루스’, 상사 ‘사라’의 결혼식에 한 껏 멋을 부리고 멋진 남자친구와 결혼식에 가지만 루스를 기다리고 있는 건, 이제 그만 헤어지자는 남자친구 ‘페드로’의 청천병력같은 통보였다. 모두가 보는 앞에서 매몰차게 차인 루스는 그 이후 자신의 연구에만 집중하며 외로운 시간을 보낸다. 얼마 뒤 루스는 예전에 사귀었던 전남자친구의 결혼식에 초대를 받게 되고, 배신감에 분노하지만 곧 또 다른 전남자친구에게서 청첩장을 받게 된다. 우울함을 덜어내고자 산책을 나간 루스는 3개월전 헤어진 ‘페드로’가 결혼한다는 소식까지 접하게 되면서 배신감에 치를 떤다. 남의 부탁은 절대 거절하지 못하는 루스는 결국 전남자친구들의 결혼식에 참가하겠다고 그들에게 말하지만, 루스에게는 같이 결혼식에 데려갈 남자 한 명 없는 상황. 루스는 자존심을 지키기 위해 연구소 인턴인 ‘다니’에게 가짜 남자친구 행세를 해달라고 부탁을 하게 되고, 다니는 어쩔 수 없이 상사의 부탁을 들어주기로 한다. 스페인 곳곳에서 벌어지는 3번의 결혼식! 과연 루스는 전남자친구들의 결혼식에서 자존심을 지켜낼 수 있을까?
