수의사인 패트릭(에이단 길렌)과 약사인 루이스(에바 버시스틀)의 딸 앨리스(엘라 코널리)는 생일 아침 등교길에 패트릭의 동물병원에 잠시 들렀다가 그만 개에게 물려 죽고 만다. 딸을 잃고 절망에 빠진 패트릭과 루이스는 ‘웨이크 우드’라는 마을에서 새로운 삶을 시작하기로 한다. 어느 날 밤 두 사람은 웨이크 우드의 촌장 아서(티모시 스펄)의 집을 방문하는데 둘은 마을 사람들이 모여 죽은 자를 부활시키는 기괴한 의식을 목격한다. 고민 끝에 죽은 딸 앨리스를 살리기 위해 의식에 참여하게 되는 패트릭과 앨리스. 3일 동안의 부활을 허락 받고 다시 돌아온 앨리스와 즐거운 한 때를 보내는 것도 잠시, 앨리스는 알 수 없는 행동들을 보이기 시작하는데….

This hilarious comedy celebrates the unique talent of Ireland's most famous wedding/pub band - Tom & Gerry (D'Unbelievables) - who, on receiving an award entitled the 'Golden Microphone of the Year Award for the best wedding/pub band in Ireland' recall the hilarious happenings during the day of the Donoghue Wedding. It is set in rural Ireland during the 1950’s, a period of mass emigration and social change. Young Irish emigrants, on arriving in America, have been enlisted and sent to fight in the Korean war. One of those emigrants, Luke Moran, dies in Korea and his home village is awash with rumours about the compensation the Moran family received on Luke’s death. John Doyle hears the rumours but remains silent. Ben Moran is John’s arch-enemy, a feud traced back to the Civil War. Eamon comforts and falls in love with Una Moran. His father feeling betrayed, blames Ben Moran for everything and is prepared to sacrifice Eamon in seeking vengeance as a contemporary Romeo and Juliet story unfolds.
