Martin has fulfilled the European dream: he has a beautiful spouse, a nice house and a well-set business. When he turns 40, he starts to ask: is this all there is, and what’s next? An existential comedy/drama about success, sense of freedom and the meaning of life.

The film is based on the diary of Arkus Gunārs Reninger about his experiences in Salaspils concentration camp in 1944, which are visually partially covered by archive materials and prisoners’ drawings, but mostly the viewer will see the specific location today. A documentary observation of a memorial nowadays, where children and adults come in groups and watch individually, with interest or get bored, emotionally react or indifferently distance themselves, sunk into phones, disconnected from the outside world… Film will tell about our time no less than Reninger’s notes about what happened in this place almost 80 years ago.

The middle aged rock enthusiast Raimonds has a dream to become a guitar player for a legendary rock and roll band. He attempts to achieve this goal by making a music video for them. However, drama starts, when a young film student, Rūta, gets involved.

1939년 8월, 유럽 전역은 전쟁의 발 앞에서 공포에 떨고 있다. 당시 에스토니아는 스탈린의 소련과 히틀러의 제3국(히틀러 치하의 독일을 일컫는 말)에 맞서 홀로 서있었는데, 국가의 반(反) 소비에트 정보국장이 살해되면서 치명적인 타격을 입게 되며 그들 내각 내의 스파이에 대한 의혹이 제기된다. 불가사의한 이중첩자를 찾는 임무를 맡은 에스토니아 스파이 펠릭스 캉구르는 반역자를 쫓기 위해 나선다. 세계, 정치, 군사적 사건들이 걷잡을 수 없는 속도로 전개됨과 동시에 독일과 소련이 폴란드를 침공하려는 움직임을 보이고, 그 와중에 펠릭스는 그 뒤에 숨겨진 소름 끼치는 계획을 발견하게 된다. 바로 소련의 붉은 군대가 에스토니아를 무력으로 합병하기 위한 비밀 작전을 계획하고 있었던 것이다. 양국에 파괴적인 결과를 가져올 이 사건을 막기 위해, 펠릭스는 폴란드 미술사학자인 마리아와 비밀 관계를 맺기로 하는데…

라트비아의 현대사를 개인적 경험에 녹여 설득력 있게 보여주는 애니메이션. 소련 치하에서 공산주의 교육을 받으며 자란 소녀는 누구보다 모범적인 학생이 되려 한다. 학교에서 하라는 대로 잘 따르며 누구보다 앞장서는 학생 대표를 꿈꾼다. TV에선 늘 독일 나치나 서방 제국주의자들에 맞서는 소련군의 활약을 보여주고 소녀 역시 공산주의 전사가 되고자 한다. 소녀에게 이해가 안 되는 것은 할아버지가 공산주의를 좋아하지 않는다는 것이다. 자신이 사랑하는 사람들이 겪은 일들을 알게 되면서 소녀는 차츰 공산주의로부터 멀어지게 된다. 애니메이션 속에 다큐멘터리처럼 실제 있었던 사건의 화면과 실존 인물들이 등장하는 형식을 취한 작품.

A Greek couple, Anna (Katia Goulioni) and Petros (Andreas Konstantinou), have recently moved to a small industrial town in Siberia. Intrigue develops among a couple of lovers, Gints and Elga, three adventure-race participants with one woman, Renate, on their team, three generations of a family whose father, Karlis, died in a tragic hunting accident, Karlis’s daughter Aija, his former lover Livija, and a young girl hardened by life, who lives at a Christian home for expectant mothers. A detective twist is added by a bit of poison, which one of them will get.

In this movie (based on a true story) within a movie, a director tries to film the tale of an old KGB activist living in a parish house. In the summer of 1941 the activist tortured and killed Latvians in the cellar of the house. Although the old man hires others to brick over the cellar door, the murdered people keep coming through the stones and never leave him in peace. Unbeknownst to the film makers, the "real" KGB activist, now an aged drunk, is milling about the film set. Moreover, the director and lead actor are competing for the love of the lead actress, and the film's producer wants the director to re-shoot parts of the movie.

A lot can happen there - including a strike by a comet, a malicious attempt to break havoc by passengers, or an exploration of the old airport guard's house where not a lot has changed since the collapse of the Soviet Union. In light of moral and ethical upheavals in the Catholic Church, and the unique challenges of the 21st century, Ratzinger's cited reason of declining health raises more questions than it answers.
