The Everden
Director
“…[an attempt] to provide new ways of visualizing and conceptualizing spaces people are familiar with. The familiar, by definition, is internalized. By making the familiar estranged, it is possible to re-evaluate it. Two of the main strategies I employ in my work to make the familiar estranged are obscurantism and decontextualization.”

Circling the Image
Director
« Circling the Image, Enns' new animation, uses Dewdney's original idea as a starting point, creating a hyper-fast work which plays with Galileo's idea that “Where the senses fail us, reason must step in.” Since our eyes cannot keep up with the speed of the imagery, our brain must fill in the data. ». Leslie Supnet
Representations of Mathematics in Cinema
Director
Representations of Mathematics in Cinema (Canada, 2008, 18 minutes) From Werner Herzog's Enigma of Kaspar Hauser to Jodie Foster's Little Man Tate, Enns provides both good and bad examples of mathematical representation in mainstream, narrative cinema. In context, Enns creates a juxtaposition between the way mathematics is presented in narrative and non-narrative cinema.

Clint Enns' Confused Rain No. 1, 2008, is a post-mortem collaboration with Nam June Paik that expands Paik's work into a computer program that produces an animation of the letters C-O-N-F-U-S-E falling like rain drops. This was written in Visual Basic.

The Aesthetics of Failure

In the dead of winter, I went to a dance party in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This video is simultaneously about my inability to interact with people as well as my camera’s inability to properly interpret what was going on around me.
The Death of Natural Language
Director
The Death of Natural Language is an ascii animation of a plane crashing into the ground which provides a poetic illustration of how people have lost the ability to express themselves eloquently. Furthermore, the abstracted image mediated by ascii text parallels modern human communication; meaning is often lost or misinterpreted by the process. The music is miko by the beans.
light is the first bodily form

Winnipeg Cinematheque
Director
This piece combines segments from important non-english films in such a way that when these segments are combined together they sound like wĭn'ə-pěg' sĭn'ə-mə-těk' phonetically. One of the intents of this piece is to allow the films themselves to pay homage to the cinema that played and supported them. Director/Editor: Clint Enns Co-Editor: Jaimz Asmundson Titles: Leslie Supnet Running time: 14 seconds This experimental video mash-up was commissioned by the Winnipeg Film Group and the Manitoba Arts Council in order to help the Winnipeg Cinematheque celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Debbie Does Ascii
Director
Debbie Does Ascii(an ascii pr0n from a 1981 BBS) is an ascii animation of a scene from Jim Clark's famous 1978 pornographic film Debbie Does Dallas. These images, like most pornographic images, are abstracted versions of human sexuality. In the days of the BBS, many people actually used images like these as a substitute for “actual” pornography.

Walking from Sals to Tims
Director
Walking from Sals to Tims is such a sizeable challenge that anyone who undertakes it must have a very good reason. I was motivated mostly by a longing for decent coffee. I wanted to become healthy after eating an unhealthy but fabulous tasting meal. I succeeded in walking over 100 blocks to Tims, taking the back roads, all on foot, with no Segways or bicycles used. Hourly, I put stretches of pot-holes behind me. I saw many beautiful landscapes, met friendly people, socialist workers, and here and there the occasional milksop whiner. I got along well with all of them, and had good conversations. I must say that people in this city are generally pretty strange.
Self Improvement

A self help video that rests somewhere between the realms of code hacking, archaic design and spiritual awakening.
