From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Agata Trzebuchowska (Polish pronunciation: [aˈgata tʂɛbuˈxɔfska]; born 1992) is a Polish actress. She is best known for playing the title role in the 2013 film Ida, which was her film debut. For her role she was nominated for many festival and industry awards. Ida director Paweł Pawlikowski was having trouble finding an actress to play his title character, so he put out word to the Warsaw film community to be on the lookout for talent. Trzebuchowska was spotted by a friend of Pawlikowski, sitting in a cafe reading a book. Trzebuchowska had no acting experience or plans to pursue an acting career, but agreed to meet with Pawlikowski because she was a fan of his 2004 film My Summer of Love.

Vacancy
Director
After “Heat”, it is the second short feature film directed by Agata Trzebuchowska, who is known as the leading actress in Paweł Pawlikowski’s “Ida”. Her proposal is unobvious and intriguing cinema, full of understatement, tension and a peculiar, inimitable atmosphere. The protagonist of “Vacancy” is Anna (Agnieszka Podsiadlik), a quite ordinary resident of a gated housing estate. One day, the woman takes a look inside an unfinished house opposite her own and makes a spontaneous decision to stay there. She begins to observe her family members and neighbours form her hiding spot. Not only does she discover their lesser and greater secrets but, above all, learns more about herself.
