자선단체 설립 기념 파티에서 만난 에스코바르(하비에르 바르뎀)와 비르히니아(페넬로페 크루즈)는 인터뷰를 계기로 급속도로 가까워지게 된다. 유명 앵커인 비르히니아는 에스코바르의 내연녀이자 조력자가 되어 메데인 카르텔의 보스인 에스코바르의 정계 진출까지 돕는다. 하지만 미국 내 마약의 80%를 공급하며 엄청난 달러를 축적하는 에스코바르를 두고 볼 수 없었던 미국은 에스코바르를 잡으려 혈안이 되고, 이를 담당한 마약단속국의 셰퍼드 요원(피터 사스가드)은 그의 내연녀 비르히니아에게 접근하는데… 11월, 세기를 뒤흔든 마약 전쟁이 시작된다!

국제 구호기구 소속의 맘브루(베니치오 델 토로)는 발칸 반도에 위치한 어느 한 마을의 우물 속에 있는 시체 인양 작업을 하던 중 밧줄이 끊어지는 사태를 맞고 만다. 마을에는 여분의 밧줄이 없는 상황에서, 맘브루는 그의 동료 B(팀 로빈스)와 소피(멜라니 티에리)에게 도움을 요청한다. 그렇지만 도착한 B와 소피 역시 방법이 없기는 매 한가지고, 그때부터 구조대원들의 밧줄 찾기 대모험이 시작된다. 인근마을 위주로 밧줄을 찾는 B와 통역관 다미르(페자 스투칸)과 달리 UN 주둔군 기지를 찾아가 도움을 요청하려던 소피와 맘브루는 UN기지를 찾아가던중 길에서 괴롭힘을 당하는 소년 니콜라(엘다 레지도빅)를 구조하게된다. 도착한 UN 기지에서는 원론적인 답변만을 듣게되는 맘브루는 그곳에서 자신의 전 연인 카티야(올가 쿠릴렌코)를 만나게된다. 이제 여섯 명으로 늘어나버린 구조대원들은 밧줄을 구하기 위해 세상에서 가장한 완벽한 날을 보내게 된다.

세상에 존재하는 심령술은 모두 사기극에 불과하다고 믿는 천재 물리학자 톰 버클리(킬리언 머피)와 그가 보좌하고 있는 냉철한 심리학자 마가렛 매티슨(시고니 위버)는 은퇴 후, 30년 만에 돌아온 세기의 심령술사 사이먼 실버(로버트 드 니로)가 가진 경이적 능력의 정체를 파헤치기 위한 실험을 하게 된다. 그러나 절대 비밀을 풀 수 없는 실버의 심령술 앞에 버클리의 믿음은 서서히 흔들리기 시작하고, 아무도 상상치 못한 진실이 드러나는데...!

Carlos is a young student, just 21. Nice or annoying as he likes, enjoys provoking and transgreding. In the night he goes out to meet his friends in the Kronen, a bar. Every situation can be taken a little farther. There are no limits, no accepted barriers. And more each time, each adventure is chained to the next, as if it were a continuous night. San Ginés de la Sierra is a small village lost in the mountains in southern Spain. It is known throughout the region for two peculiar characteristics: its "persistent" drought and a "Home of the Vanquished". This "home" is an institution that houses some twenty old people, to whose care are eleven nuns and crosses a distressing economic situation. The nuns are desperately seeking a solution and decide to hold a charity bulls run.
