홍가권(洪家拳)의 창시자인 홍희관의 아들 '홍문정(유가휘 분)' 은 우아표와 함께 명나라의 재건을 위해 힘쓰는데, 백련교가 이를 방해한다. 그러자 홍문정과 우아표는 서로의 호, 학 권법을 합쳐 호학쌍형권으로 백련교주의 동생 백미자를 무찌른다. 이에 분개한 백련교주(나열 분)는 홍문정 일파를 습격하고 급소가 없는 백련교주에겐 호학쌍형권이 통하지 않는다. 결국 학권을 맡은 우아표가 백련교주에게 죽임을 당하고 홍문정과 우아표의 처(혜영홍 분)는 가까스로 도망을 쳐 우아표의 옛 지기의 종이공장으로 피신하게 된다. 그 곳에서 홍문정은 호학쌍형권을 연마하며 백련교주를 무찌르고자 노력하지만 번번히 깨지고 만다. 이에 우아표의 처는 백련교주를 무찌르기 위해선 권법에 여성과 같은 부드러움이 가미되어야 한다며 부드러운 권법을 전수한다. 이를 수련한 문정은 자신의 권법에 큰 진전이 있음을 알고 백련교주를 찾아가지만 큰 부상을 입어 죽을 위기에 처하고 만다. 문정은 종이공장장의 침술로 겨우 소생하고 공장장으로부터 받은 침술서를 통해 혈도술을 익힌다. 혈도술과 호학쌍형권, 그리고 여성의 무술을 익힌 문정은 백련교주를 향해 다시 찾아간다.
