작은 마을 플로이크파에 겨울이 다가오지만 눈은 내리지 않고, 지역 신문에서는 석 달째 눈이 올 거라는 기사를 내는 바람에 사람들의 불만은 이만 저만이 아닌 상황. 마음이 급해진 신문사 편집장은 동네 발명가를 찾아가 눈 내리는 기계를 만들어 달라 조르고, 기계의 성능이 완벽하지 않은데도, 편집장은 몰래 창고에 숨어들어가 기계를 가지고 나온다. 기계의 오작동으로 마을에는 폭설이 쏟아지기 시작하고 우리의 히어로 솔란과 루드빅은 폭설로부터 마을을 구해야만 하는데...

A young man from Larvik never says no. One day he gets a magic salt grinder from a salt troll. The town's richest person steals the salt grinder, and it ends with disaster.

Despite its suggestive title, this multi-part Danish omnibus film is not a work of exploitation. Instead, it presents 20 different short films (back-to-back) on the general theme of Danish women, directed by filmmakers including Krzysztof Zanussi, Monika Treut, Gustav Hamos, David Blair, Vibeke Vogel, Dusan Makavejev, Morten Skallerud and Lars Norgaard. Some dramatic vignettes mix with other comedic ones, but all are offbeat and experimental. The picture includes one animated sequence (by Norgaard).

Knut Erik Jensen's personal visual poem, an Elegy for a culture that no longer exists. Stella Polaris is a personal document in fiction form of a bygone era and culture in the northernmost part of Norway. At the same time described the current Finnmark in the scene from our own time. The story is narrated by a woman's eyes, both as children in the busy fishing village and as an adult in the present. She returns to the birthplace and remember how life was before the fishing village was closed. Love story between her and her childhood friend is central to the action. 'Stella Polaris' is in the form of associative told with an unconventional dramaturgy.

The 12 minute short film was filmed in 70mm Super Panavision, using a specially developed "nature animation" technique. The result is a magic flight in one single shot, along the remains of an internal village road. At the same time a whole year passes by at 50 000 times normal speed! Most of the year, the village of Børfjord lies empty with virgin snow between cold houses. People show up only during a short and hectic summer season. But the cycles of nature go on as they have always done, totally independent of what people might do.
