This story is a collection of four love relationships: Geeky Hong (Michael Ning) who looks forward to romance bumps into Shirley (Shirley Chan); Rich kid Silver (Chloe So) who is socially anxious hires a rental boyfriend Jerome (Adam Pak); Chung (Anson Kong) and Zoe (Karena),a dysfunctional pair of social couple; and Ho (Edward Ma) an indecisive person meeting Tin Tin (Roxanne Tong), a nurse with polyamorous relationships. Following the through line in each story, they encounter unexpected obstacles in their relationships all set on the eve of Valentine's Day.

When Hong Kong is rocked by multiple gruesome murders, the police forms a task force to investigate. Jun, once a brilliant detective who suffered a mental breakdown, begins his own investigation. Eventually, the police learn that the murder victims are all suspects of cold cases being rubbed out by a figure known as "The Sleuth". Now, Jun and a detective from the task force are on a race against time to beat the brutal killer at its own game.

Like her directorial debut Twelve Nights, Twelve Days depicts 12 scenes of a tumultuous marriage, from its blissful beginning through its bitter collapse. On day one, Jeannie and Simon seem to have the makings of a perfect marriage, but the following 11 vignettes reveal the various conflicts, both big and small, that slowly eat away at their bond. Love may build a marriage, but Twelve Days shows that reality can just as easily shatter it.

It is said that a corpse should be exhumed and moved every 30 years to ensure continued fortune and prosperity for its descendants. As the time limit is nearing for his grandfather's corpse, TV station boss Kelvin Chow (Kelvin Kwan, Tales from the Dark 2) looks to Charlie Jiang (Yuen Biao), whose ancestors performed the ritual for the Chow family, to complete the task.
