Model and actress Dani Minnick started off in small roles on TV, including a part in the Emmy-nominated A Rumor of War (1980). A few guest spots on TV shows followed before she became the face of Virginia Slims cigarettes, a modeling gig which offered her worldwide exposure in both magazines and on TV from 1983 until 1987. Afterward, she continued to act until the mid-90s and had her highest profile part as Rebecca Morrison on the daytime soap Days of Our Lives in 1993. She could also be seen in horror films like From the Dead of Night (1989) and The Sleeping Car (1990). In recent years she's stepped behind the camera with the award-winning independent feature Falling Like This (2001) and has just completed work on the documentary The Needs of Kim Stanley.

Screenplay

Falling Like This showcases compelling performances by two young actors, Brian Vaughan and Megan Wilson. Writer/Director Dani Minnick has crafted a compassionate examination of the ragged edge of suburban life as characterized by Boyd, a charming, vulnerable and inveterate juvenile delinquent whose love nearly derails the life of a middle-class teenage girl. The understated themes of adolescent rebellion, adult responsibility and the redemptive power of love are woven elegantly into this dream-like film.

From the Dead of Night

After having a near death experience Joanna finds her life in constant danger. She begins to believe that certain forces are trying to bring her back into the world of the dead. Her boyfriend Glen thinks she's crazy so Joanna turns to her ex-boyfriend, Peter. It just so happens that Peter is a strong believer in the supernatural and even teaches a course on it at a local college. Together they must confront the "walkers" so that Joanna can live to see another day.

A bordello catering to rich and wealthy clients, run by Lil Hutton experiences a series of crises as one girl ends up pregnant, and another dead. As a subplot, a young woman, Julie Taylor, makes a trip to LA to surprise a friend, but never finds her. Julie is mugged, and seeks help from Lil Hutton. She sees how much the prostitutes are making, and is tempted into the lifestyle. On her first "job" is hired by a rich father for his 18-year old virgin son as a birthday gift, and they fall in love. But the relationship comes to a quick end as soon as the son learns she is a "whore"; Julie breaks down and runs off after realizing prostitution is a cold and loveless occupation that cannot fulfill her emotional emptiness.
