The film follows Henson’s career from his first work with his Muppets in the early 1950’s during television’s Golden Age up to his sudden and shocking death in 1990, as he transcended puppetry to become one of the most creative, prolific and influential artists of his time. Key events include his early television work with the Muppets while still a student at the University of Maryland, his commercial work and network appearances in the late 1950s and early 1960’s, his breakthrough with Sesame Street, The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and his groundbreaking fantasy films, Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. Among those interviewed for the Jim Henson episode are his children, Lisa, Cheryl, Brian and Heather Henson, actors Neil Patrick Harris and Candice Bergen, Willard Scott, director John Landis, former Disney CEO Michael Eisner, and Sesame Street cast members Bob McGrath and Carroll Spinney.

폴란드에서 미국으로 건너온 이민 1세대 할아버지 록키(Rocky Holzcek: 피터 포크 분)는 땡전 한푼 없고 배운 것도 없지만 107세의 고령에도 불구하고 제과점에서 빵을 구우며 스스로의 가치관을 고집스럽게 지켜간다. 여기에 월남전에서 아버지를 여윈 채 할아버지와 함께 생활하는 손자 마이클(Michael Holzcek: D.B. 스위니 분)이 30여년의 세월동안 룸메이트로 살면서 세대간의 갈등과 감동을 웃음과 반전으로 엮어낸다. 어려서 부모를 모두 여의고 고아가 되버린 마이클을 할아버지 록키는 남들이 보기에는 괴팍하고 완고하기 짝이 없지만 정작 남다른 애정과 사랑으로 돌본다. 그러다가 마이클은 장성하여 외과 레지던트로 일하게 되면서 베쓰(Beth Holzcek: 줄리안 무어 분)라는 이름의 사회 봉사활동가를 만나 사랑에 빠진다. 자신 외에는 누구의 도움도 필요없으리라 느꼈던 록키는 사회봉사가인 베쓰를 곱게 보아주지 못한다. 세 사람 사이엔 몇 차례의 갈등이 있었지만, 결국 록키는 손자의 인생을 이해하고 결혼을 승낙한다. 그러나 베쓰는 불의의 교통사로고 즉사하게 되고 마이클은 다시 할아버지와 룸메이트의 관계를 이어가게 된다. 그러나 마이클의 장모는 어머니도 없는 상태에서 외손주들을 괴팍하고 고집스런 구식 늙은이에게 맡겨둘 수 없다고 판단하여 아이들의 양육권을 주장하고 나선다. 그러나 록키는 자신의 방식으로 마이클과 증손자들을 지켜내고 만다. 록키는 평생을 두고서 마이클에게 가르치고 싶었던 가족의 소중함과 행복함을 깨닫게 하고서, 얼마 후 손자와 증손자들이 지켜보는 가운데 조용히 눈을 감는다. 가족의 이름을 부르며.

This special documents Mickey Mouse's historic two-week visit to the Soviet Union in 1988, honoring a Disney film festival in which three classic animated features were screened in the country for the first time. As the festival traveled through Moscow, Tallinn, and Leningrad, Mickey was given a tour the USSR by Misha, the USSR's mascot for the 1980 Olympics, and they encountered many interesting sights and people.
