Four suburban housewives, with a love for the theater, set out to foil an unscrupulous talent agent who has threatened to blackmail another woman to the point of an attempted suicide.

Inspired by the Stanley Milgram obedience research, this TV movie chronicles a psychology professor's study to determine why people, such as the Nazis, were willing to "just follow orders" and do horrible things to others. Professor Stephen Turner leads students to believe that they are applying increasingly painful electric shocks to other subjects when they fail to perform a task correctly, and is alarmed to see how much pain the students can be convinced to inflict "in the name of science."

A group of interested parties searching for stolen campaign money in a deserted house learn a murderer is among them.

When an in-flight collision incapacitates the pilots of an airplane bound for Los Angeles, stewardess Nancy Pryor is forced to take over the controls. From the ground, her boyfriend Alan Murdock, a retired test pilot, tries to talk her through piloting and landing the 747 aircraft. Worse yet, the anxious passengers — among which are a noisy nun and a cranky man — are aggravating the already tense atmosphere.

어느 담배 회사가 판촉을 목적으로 1달 동안 담배를 피지 않는 도시에 한하여 2500만 달러를 주겠다고 제안한다. 이에 아이오하주의 이글록(Elgle Rock)이라는 작은 마을의 목사인 브룩스는 쇠퇴해져 가는 마을을 발전시키기 위한 기금을 얻기 위해 '콜드 터키'라고 불리는 금연 운동을 펼친다. 이 운동은 곧 여러 사람에게로 퍼지고 곧 실시가 된다. 하지만 하루 하루가 지남에 따라 사람들은 담배를 못피우자 싸움과 신경질이 계속된다. 이에 전문가들은 섹스를 즐기라고 권하기도 하는 헤프닝을 벌인다. 한편 이 마을은 미국 전역에 걸쳐 주목을 받게 되어 유례없는 번화와 유명세를 타면서 금연을 벌이는 도시가 늘어간다. 이에 계획이 틀어지자 초조해진 담배 회사는 이글록에 감시원들을 파견하여 콜드 터키가 성공하지 못하도록 훼방을 놓는다. 1달이 되어가자 이글록의 시위원들은 상금을 둘러싸고 싸우고, 마을 사람들은 이것을 나눠도 각자에게 6천달러가 돌아간다며 아우성이다. 꼭 1달이 되는 자정을 앞두고 마을 사람들은 축제 분위기인 가운데, 회사측에서는 시계탑을 12시로 맞추고 헬기콥터를 동원하여 담배를 마구 뿌려댄다. 담배 생각뿐이던 사람들은 아우성이고, 우여곡절 끝에 자정까지 무사히 보낸다. 콜드 터키 계획은 성공하고, 이날 마을에 대통령까지 방문한다. 그리고 이 마을을 미사일 공장을 건설하겠다고 약속해 마을 사람들의 환호를 받는다. 그후 이 도시의 공장 굴뚝은 담배 연기와 같이 시커먼 연기를 내뿜는다.

A young man, Bert Cates, is arrested in a small Bible Belt town for teaching the theory of Evolution in the public school. Two of the finest legal minds in the U.S. are called to the trial: Henry Drummond for the defense, and Matthew Harrison Brady for the prosecution. The trial proceeds on three levels, the guilt or innocence of Cates, the issue of the Bible vs. Darwin, and finally, the personal confrontation between Drummond and Brady.

Theodore Hickman, a hardware salesman, makes by-yearly visits to Harry Hope's 1910-era waterfront bar for his periodical drinking binges. But on this visit he has decided to try to save the bar's patrons from their "lying pipe dreams."
